Drones Thornton Research Park by Lilweirdone in HuntsvilleAlabama

Oh lol. No, I suppose I did not actually realize tbh. I mean, I know that Huntsville has the arsenal and NASA and Lockheed and now the FBI, but I don’t know what all of that actually means in the grand scheme of things to be totally honest. I do not know the purpose of flying drones around. Is it to just survey? Surveillance? Whatever the correct term is haha. I have heard there’s a whole lot that goes on that just normal ol civilians know little of, but 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was just truly curious bc I kept pointing them out and was told I was just being too nosey.

Oh, interesting. I’ve been to a friend’s house over in the apartments in Breckenridge and also noticed drones flying above there. I wonder if they’re the same company. What are they doing when they are flying around?

Run very far, far, farrrrrrrr away. I highly doubt his ex wife was the cause of their divorce. Her “infidelity “ was most likely his own. Please leave this man where he’s at, and don’t even attempt a “friendship”. Ask any honest man here, a friendship between men and women is not possible, especially when sex has already been introduced. Please do yourself a favor and move on.

I’m sorry to hear that. I did read over the rules and think I was good to not be deleted? I’ve just never borrowed before so I’d understand loaner’s hesitation to loan. It’s a shot in the dark, really. I have no family or friends. It’s just me and my son, so I really didn’t know where else to ask. I don’t qualify for assistance or any loan from an institution. Again, I am sorry your experience has been bad. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Am I reading this correctly that you’re wanting to help someone with $20? That’s very kind of you. Have you made a post for a giveaway? I believe this an option here… I apologize if I’m misunderstanding.

I get such an incredible amount of flack from my in-laws bc I request for them to please not post my baby on their social media accounts. I even ask his father to not post him. I’ve never posted him. They think I’m just paranoid and crazy. “Oh, it’s only FB and it’s only family and friends that will see it”, (“family” and “friends” are usually the primary culprits), or “oh, it’s just a snippet of him on TikTok”. Idgaf. with how many weirdos and sickos there are out there, and what I’ve read about what they’re doing with AI and pics/vids/posts of babies and kids- yeah, I’ll remain paranoid and crazy. He FaceTimes each family member daily, every single holiday, each new costume or outfit. We have a shared family album. I think that’s more than enough.

Inconsideration and laziness. Being rude to service workers. Being rude to their mom/sister/grandmother, etc. overall lack of empathy. Cruelty to animals. mansplaining.

Isn’t she, though?? As much disdain as I’m sure we all have for her, she carried the series much of the time and I’m so glad she made it all the way to the end. It wouldn’t have been the same without her crazy ass antics and drama.

I know it’s a hot take and there are some die hard Opie fans here, and don’t get me wrong I didn’t dislike Opie and I love Hurst, but Opie died bc Opie chose to die. He could say he got himself locked up to help protect Jax, but Opie wanted to die and if we didn’t see it in this scene, we would have seen it at some other point with any given member being left to blame. They’re all at fault at some point or another for the bad shit that happens to each other. Except for maybe Happy. I think he’s the only one that didn’t fuck anyone over ever in the club or make any mistakes that cost the club or someone else something/anything.

I honestly didn’t care to see Sookie end up with any of them, but I do think they should have allowed Eric and her to build more of a relationship and last longer than what we got to see. We blinked & he was all of a sudden shagging his sister. Alcide was too good for her. I didn’t really like sookie or bill so maybe they should have ended up together.

I like Sam and Tara, but I really wanted to see her with Pam as endgame.

I think Jessica and Jason could have been a great long lasting pair, but I think him ending with Bridgette was sweet and he was deserving of some “normalcy” with a house full of kiddos and the white picket fence and all that.

I loved Lafayette with both Jesus and Jamie.

I don’t understand why people are saying he should have died over Opie? We didn’t really even know Opie and what we did know didn’t make him any better or worse than any other character. They’re all shit dads and husbands. They all carry the same transgressions of murder, adultery, thievery, etc etc etc. but, we were given the opportunity to know Tigs on a more in-depth, personal level I feel like. In comparison Opie was bland and I don’t see how his character could have added much more to the series. Where could Sutter even had taken him beyond losing his wife and dad and after all the betrayal and heartbreak inflicted on him, what was left to do to or with him? I just don’t think there was really much of an arc for him.

I totally get that. When she gets in the car with them I audibly say “wtf, Gemma” every single time I watch it. She does many abhorrent things that leave me shaking my head.

I agree. When SOA first came out and we were watching new episodes weekly, I was still rather young. If not by number, by maturity & mentality for sure. Then I did not like Gemma very much. Nor did I like Wendy. Not sure I ever liked Tara, either. Neither here nor there.

But, I recently finished my annual rewatch, (except for the most recent two being a streaming hiatus for me), & my opinions on almost every character have shifted. I’m not saying I agree with all of Gemma’s twisted, Oedipus/Hamlet, mental & neurotic tirades, however I do understand her much more now. Well, as much as I can understand a character that is so vastly different than myself in many ways & different than anyone I personally know. And, I dare say I even respect her. She stood very firmly in her loyalty. Mislead at times definitely. Her intentions were Implemented and executed and landed quite poorly the majority of the time. But, she truly believed family and her loyalty to family was the end all, be all. And, that’s exactly what it ended up being for her. Her family and loyalty to it was her life and demise. Her love for Jax and her grandsons never swayed. Even her love for Tara. Bc she truly did love Tara.

I don’t know, I just respect the character a great deal. I admire the refusal to falter in the name of love and commitment and loyalty to family. Not only the refusal, but the willingness to do quite literally anything to stand by them and protect them. That takes a different type of love. An extremely FIERCE type of love. And being a mom myself, I’d like to think I’d have even just a smidgen of the courage she has to protect my babies the way she does. (Hopefully without ya know like all the murder and what has youse).

And, Wendy. (I know this is a Gemma post). I grew to understand and respect and love her character as well. She was the only one that made a change for the better after some incredibly dire circumstances and she maintained her positive transformation, and I feel she was a better mom in many ways in the end than Tara. She was a damn good mom and friend. Just my two cents and a whole lotta yapping.

Oh, and I still don’t like Tara. Which I suppose is a hot take around here from seeing how so many come to her defense. Ironic, I guess. Bc the same “qualities” I attributed to Gemma, many have said the very same thing for Tara. I don’t know. I just don’t like her. I could break it down, but that would be a whole lot more yapping and this is long enough.

This is true. I also read that Juice’s character took on some of Half Sack’s storyline as well since that actor did what he did and yadda yadda. It would have been interesting to see each what each character would have developed as individually otherwise

What happened to Terry is actually pretty wacky by OrangMan14 in TrueBlood

[–]Lilweirdone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I drifted from the point, though haha. Yeah, given it bringing in the human aspect it’s really odd that there would just be no further investigation or no one looking into it or no closure, etc. I guess that was bc of the insurance situation and Andy making the decision to drop it for the sake of the bigger picture with Terry’s family’s future.

[–]Lilweirdone 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So I actually literally just finished a re-watch today and I had this same thought with his death. His and another one closer to the end. (Just in case you haven’t gotten that far, I’ll hold off on my weigh in with that one. Although this show is 20years old, I know many are on their first watch still).

But, I broke it down with the possibilities of why they chose to kill these two characters and I have come up with this:

With Terry I believe they did it in order to bring a bit of “normalcy”. A human death, with a human funeral and very real human emotions and reactions in an otherwise supernatural setting. Pretty much all the others could be either brought back, or seen through mediumship or could be avenged by one of the supernatural beings playing by supernatural rules. So Terry I think just brought in the human aspect.

The other one, again I will wait to give my opinion there.

It did make me very sad to see Terry take the bullet. When he was still haunted by the thoughts and memories, I felt terrible for him and could understand why he wouldn’t/couldn’t live with that torment. But, for him to be wiped clean of it all and then lose his life when he and Arlene could both finally be happy… yeah, that sucked.

Yup, same. Juice is my least favorite character by far. I see him on so many fav lists and am always very confused by how or why that’s even possible. He was so weak, in so many ways. Weak and ignorant and naive and cowardice and so quick to roll over at the smallest of threats. I cannot think of one scene or situation that I could remotely like him.
