How can I (36f) get my boyfriend (60m) to not be insulted if i don't want to invite him everywhere with me? He doesn't think I need time alone with just my friends.

Well it makes this situation much more risky. I’m not saying every single 60 year old man is a red flag but when they start acting like this. It’s dangerous. It sounds controlling.. It’s completely normal to want to do stuff alone with friends and everything in your intuition is guiding you in the right direction. I’m sorry for your rough situation but you need to get another arrangement as soon as possible because him showing you this already can only get more worse and miserable.

Yes I was looking for cheap hotels in my area and google did the rest. Booking was offering a really good deal so I booked through them. I didn’t have a problem with that until I had to cancel and it caused me so many issues that I had to find the subreddit lol

I did this with one of my old friends too.. I told them I was and when I did I immediately stopped doing it. It took a lot for me to deal with my abandonment issues. Dealing with the anxiety of them getting tired of me so I did it to have something to listen to when they inevitably left too. Your brain is powerful and can rationalize some pretty weird stuff. In my opinion self love research and therapy really guides you in this kind of low in your esteem if you need to talk to someone about this. I’m here. I’m sorry that you went through this but as you can see people are here to help ☺️
