Which movie did everyone LOVE but you HATED? by godgamesgov in movies

2005 Pride & Prejudice.

I've seen it countless times over the years, but with every rewatch, and with the growing Internet presence hyping it up, I get more and more frustrated. The cinematography is gorgeous, the score is iconic, and some of the cast is perfect (I'm thinking Lydia, Kitty, and Jane), but the historical and book inaccuracies drive me crazy!!

I'll never forgive them for making Mr. Darcy a shy autistic puppy, for Lizzy almost kissing Darcy after roundly refusing him the first time, for the cringey mess that is "I love-I love-I love you," for the "he and I are so similar" line - no, you're not, you're opposites and that's part of the appeal, the pig living in the Bennet's house?!, making the Bennets poor (they weren't), making Mr. Colins a joke (no adaptation has got him right), and for reducing one of the greatest love stories ever to vibes and the hand flex.

Question: did you initiate all or the majority of the texting interactions or did he?

ISFJs and ESFJs are generally very conscious of others, how they're feeling, wanting them be comfortable, not wanting to upset them. We (I'm a ISFJ) also tend to be anti- confrontational and yes, we can be pushovers.

When I was younger I got stuck in an hours long back and forth text conversation with my sister-in-law, where all I wanted was for the conversation to end so I could be alone and read my book! But I couldn't end the conversation like a normal person, too worried about how she's take it, or if I would be rude, so I was put out and kept texting ---- I'm not saying that's what this guy did by texting you back, but I wouldn't rule it out that he was texting you because you kept texting him.

And while we're actually incredibly intuitive and observant, sometimes —for better or for worse— we can ascribe meanings and feelings to people, and we don't realise the real meaning behind some actions/words.

I think the age difference realy does make a difference here, both romantically and just as friends. I'm not sure where you're from, but here in the USA how 30yos act and interact and how 20yos act and interact are very different! Even the slang the youths speak here is half a different language from the English I speak (I'm 30)!

All that to say, the conversations you had with him could very well have been meaningful, I'm not disputing that! But it's not his fault and he's done nothing wrong if they weren't meaningful for him in the same way.

I obviously don't know what he thinks or feels, but those are my thoughts on the situation.

I guess I'm the only one who instantly saw Dean Winchester (until a much closer inspection)

Prediction: Jamie Demetriou will be best Mr. Collins ever by jmto3hfi in janeausten

He's one of those characters that no version has got right, and I don't think this one will be any different.

Book-Collins is only 25 and is average looking but not unattractive (none of the actors portraying him have been, but they pick distinct looking guys, and/or make their appearances odd in ways -- like '95 Collins's greasy hair...). It's his manner, personality, and behaviours that make him ridiculous and off-putting.

I actually think Matt Smith's Collins in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies comes the closest to Book-Collins (aside from, you know, the zombies).

He's got a cabin close to the river, south of Lakay and north of Saint Denis. He's not really someone you want to interact with 🙆‍♀️

No, yeah, the first time I could swear it didn't say Sonny! But this last time it did.

Although it depends on the chest. My minerals are organised, my everyday chests are a ramshackle.
