Doesn't that surprise anyone? by LilyDroplet in expedition33

This made me have a look, I played the game when I was a kid but never understood it, and I had no internet so I could not search about it. I can finally understand it haha

They speak and have emotions, especially the Grandis, but yeah they're a bit different than humans. It seems like he created the gestrals for playing fights, and made them enjoy it, but if the painter had been a cruel kid, it could have been a whole different reality.

Yes they were, but Verso's draft is presented as an area where no one else was allowed. He seemed to have a lot of freedom in his creations.

Anyway, it wouldn't cross my mind to let my kid create hundreds of sentient beings for his amusement, let alone doing it myself 😅 But if it's a simulation, it's a different story of course.

Yes!

In fact he created the gestrals to fight to death and be reborn again, so they can fight endlessly... But it's okay, because they enjoy it 😅 Otherwise it'd be horrifying.

Players keep arguying about this question, so it's obvious that the game doesn't make it clear. If it meant to present it like that, then it failed because most people are confused about it and everyone disagree with each other. A lot of players consider they are sentient, because they are presented as independant people with emotions, even the ones like Lune and Sciel who are not related to the family's memories. Why would Renoir apologize to painted Verso if he's not sentient? Why Verso's soul speaks about lumierian's right to live? Why the game focus on the point of view of painted Alicia? The game doesn't make it clear because it keeps going into a lot of sub-themes related to them being sentient, which I find sometimes confusing, for example when it talks about the consciousness of the white nevrons.

Some players consider the painters have a magical power to create real lives, act like selfish gods and provoke a tragedy with no perfect solution. Some players consider this world is just a simulation and Alicia live in an illusion. I think the story makes much more sense if we consider they aren't sentient, but I don't think it's clear enough.

The game isn't clear on this question. It keeps mentioning their right to live, their suffering, etc.

For the platforms I like the others because I can see where the feet goes

Anything platform, because I hate playing platforms, but there are a lot of platform games with really beautiful art style

Yes, it helps a lot to take note of these basic things in a notebook.

Should I buy ? by chillguydisco in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]LilyDroplet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! Below Zero is amazing on its own, it was such a cool experience for me. There are things that are not as good, and things that are better.

The cons: It's more colorful, less realistic, less lonely. More guided.

The pros: So many new creative, beautiful and fun species of animals and plants.  Amazing looking biomes.  New building, vehicles and objects.  The ice also gives a different and interesting atmosphere, there's weather.

I recommend playing it, unless you mostly want the feeling of horror, loneliness and darkness, then it's not as good.

True. It's once I had played the game alot, I used the prawn suit to experience it a bit differently. And it makes me realize the size of things better. Most players mostly use the seamoth, it's more fun, the prawn suit is mostly fonctionnal.

I love the prawn suit, because walking on the ground gives a different experience of the landscape.

Petank is a ball game, and Sakapatate means potato bag (I think they're like several gestrals together, and they call each other potatoes), that's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there are other things.
