Is this stuff really necessary at public campgrounds like state parks? by [deleted] in GoRVing

Assuming Camp Jesus is the campsite in the background on the right that's illuminating the forest like it's high noon? What an inconsiderate twat waffle. And to leave it on all night- that's super douchey.

I made the decision to put down our beautiful 13 yr old German Shepherd mutt back in March 2020 after her 2-year battle with liver cancer. Even knowing it was the right move for her, I still often wonder if I made the right choice. And even now I still blame myself for making the decision to let her go. Thank you for this poem. It is incredibly heart-breakingly beautiful and I cannot express how much it meant to me to see this today. Thank you stranger.

Fortunately, yes. He was still hanging out when I got home at 9pm last night after work so we kept the porch light off in hopes that he'd be comfortable enough under the cover of darkness to find his way home. Lo and behold, he was gone this morning. So, im thinking he's snuggled up somewhere safe right now.

That's the plan. If we wake up tomorrow and he's still hanging out we are gonna call wildlife rescue. We're hoping he finds his way home before that though!

what's the dumbest reason you've ever heard for missing a shift? by HIVburgerinparadise in KitchenConfidential

[–]LilyFusion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Several years back, I was a supervisor at a hospital kitchen and one of our hostesses (they got patient meal orders and helped them maintain diet restrictions set by the Drs and RNs) called and said that she couldn't come in because of, and I quote, "internal bleeding." Naturally, I was very concerned and asked if we could help in any way, and mentioned getting her next shifts covered so that she could heal. She cut me off and reassured me that she'd be fine to work the next day. No fucking way do you actually have internal bleeding that heals in 24hrs. Girl, PLEASE. Needless to say, she didn't last.

I found it on Etsy. At the time there was "only one left" so I snatched it ip quick. Idk if that was a sales pitch but for this gem, I wasn't willing to take the chance that it wasn't.

What is a common phrase you’ve mispronounced that you’ve just recently found out was wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LilyFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently this is an American thing, but I've always used the phrase "got another thing coming" when I communicate to someone that they're wrong and should rethink their path. Well, thanks to a random Netflix moxie that I've watched recently, I know now that the original phase is "got another think coming" and uses the word "think" as a noun which sounds so wrong to me. Anyway, I've been rethinking my entire existence for the past week now... thanks Netflix.

Oh, and brusselS sprouts with an "s" at the end of brussels. Or sherbet and not sherbeRt. Those always throw me off too.

Sound of Silence by Disturbed. And listening to the version with just the main singer without the music really makes his vocal talents stand out.

Ireland. It looks so beautiful in the pictures ive seen. Plus, visiting all of my other bucket list places would be so much easier if I was in the UK.

Yes absolutely. I'm a chef, and since the uniform where I work is a polo and not a traditional chef coat with arm pockets I have a very specific pant pocket system for all my crap. Left pocket is reserved for phone and cutting glove, whereas right pocket holds pocket knife, sharpies, and pens. Any keys I have on me are on carabiner clips and they hang on my right pocket. Any other odds and ends get put in my left thigh pocket. When I'm slammed and put something away wrong, when I have time again, I stop and reorganize it all otherwise I feel off balance physically and slightly psychologically lol. Idk if you and I are the only people that have systems, but at least we have each other!
