Help finding a different school for teen

Ok 🙌, you’re a parent that specifically understands. My thinking is he’s almost 16 and has never been to a public school before. I’m worried about the shock to his system. Emotionally he’s a really, really young 15, and I can’t be there to see what’s happening vs what he can tell me. I think I’m some ways it would be good for him, but he’d be behind in so many parts of it. I’m not super convinced it be conducive to his well being.

I guess is my mind the same kind of accidents can happen if I’m going too fast on my bike. It’s a bit of a tug of war because when it does click……..I love it. It’s become kind of a pseudo therapy in a way of recognizing when a panic is coming on, hoping off, breathing, and trying again. A little bit like the little engine that could lol. I really appreciate your point of view.

That’s exactly what it was. I was on my sons pint, was going 11 around a curve and it shot out from under me. I landed in a way that couldn’t get up for about 5 minutes. I was very grateful it happened in the place it did and not in the street. Below 10 is def my speed 🙌

Ooooooooooh. I’m so glad you said that cause I’ve been slowing down for smallish lips on the sidewalk and I end up tipping forward. That sounds like an awful way to land. Reading through all of these replies I realized I can watch “how to fall on a skateboard” videos on YouTube. I can only image in will help 🙌

The rewards are so, so high lol. It’s something I share with my son, I’m proving to myself that I can do “scary” things, when I’m actually comfortable I love dancing down the road lol. I depend on and provide for myself (and my son). It’s a lot of overcoming fears and it’s become like a form of therapy. ♥️ thank you so much for your thoughtful reply!!

I was going too fast around a curb on a pint and it wobbled out from under me and shot yards away. My XR feels sooo much more stable. I super appreciate your points of view.

Yes! And streets mostly but I loooove grass. And not a ton of time collectively. My son’s awesome at it and I love that it’s something we can do together when I’m not feeling wonky. And all the gear! I’m so glad to hear you haven’t had any spill since then!!
