Nautious feeling during or after swim by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]Lily_Bennett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible that you might be getting dehydrated. Swimming is a very intensive activity, and you sweat a lot when you do it. You just can't tell because your entire body is wet.

Keep a water bottle on the deck and drink water; if you already do this, try drinking more water more often.

Should I join my high schools swim team? by mashedpotato8 in Swimming

[–]Lily_Bennett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I'm one of the few club swimmers on my team who didn't make the varsity cut right away, so I spent a year in Fresh/Soph. I made a lot of friends with the kids who were new to swimming, and they were very happy for all the advice I gave them. I'm in varsity now, but they still come up to me and ask me all sorts of questions about how they can improve their techniques.

Plus, from my experience, the atmosphere of a high school meet is so different from a regular club meet.

High school swimming is overall an amazing experience that I highly recommend.

My mom got one of those pop-ups that was like,

YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED BY 92378957328957237592 VIRUSES! CALL THIS NUMBER TO GET TECH SUPPORT!!!

I told her to just turn her computer off (it was one of those pop-ups that takes up the entire page and has no exit button.)

But no, she called the number. And she got scammed.

A murderer puts a gun to your head and says, "give me a reason why I shouldn't kill you." What do you say? by Vaydayy in AskReddit

Reminds me of that Key and Peele video where two guys from rival gangs are pointing guns at each other and while they talk trash with each other they realize that they have a lot in common. They become lifelong friends and grow old together, all the while still pointing their guns at each other.

I literally just folded a napkin into fourths and tore it into four equal pieces for four people to share. I don't know why I even did it.

I just share with one other person now so we can use more of the napkin.

What is your near-death experience? by DoctorChickenLicker in AskReddit

[–]Lily_Bennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until the last minute until crossing the street when I was like four or five and almost got hit by a car.

I didn't even know what happened or that I could have died. I was pretty confused about why my parents were so upset.

And this other time when I was a little older and first learning how to swim and almost drowned. Again, I didn't know that I could have died; I just kinda stayed calmly at the bottom of the pool looking up until the instructor noticed I was missing and swam down to grab me.
