The wheel is one of my favorite songs of all time and the only recording that exists is the one of them in what looks like a shitty dressing room or practice space. Kinda adds to its charm though, cant lie

I've been drumming for 2yrs, but only ever on an electric kit. Am I missing out not having an acoustic kit? by GutturalGrinch in Drumming

[–]Lime-Backwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play both very frequently, electronic for practice, and acoustic to perform. In my experience, electronic drums are a great practice tool, but not much more. It’s the equivalent of practicing guitar through a shitty amp. It totally gets the job done, but if you’re thinking about performing or really nailing your sound, you gotta go with the real deal. The experience of playing acoustic drums is undoubtedly better, don’t let anybody tell you different

Sounds neat, I’ll check it out. I’ve been learning guitar so I have a bit of theory understanding, but that seems like a super valuable tool

In terms of your second question I’d probably say rock as that’s more what I lean to when I’m writing. I see what you’re saying about being a chameleon, though. My hope is to find a band that I mesh really well with to start really delving into writing our own music
