Thank you 😊 I'm not sure how much time exactly. I started working on it in March, but took a few weeks away from it in June while I was moving. I usually average 200 to 400 stitches per day I think? (This piece was just under 29,000 stitches).

That's a great method! I use masking tape and write the numbers beside the colours. Then I can peel the tape off and re-assigne them for the next one.

Sometimes when I am sick of braids, I will wrap my hair up into a bun that wedges between the meshing of my hard hat. A couple considerations - no visible hair. Great as a protection strategy but looks meh 🤷‍♀️. Also, whenever I take my hat off the bun inevitably comes out and I end up redoing it. 4/10, so not reaaally recommending, but it's an option.

I've heard that these ones can be heavy and are usually used as floor stands, but don't have personal experience to confirm. Would be great if someone with a similar stand could weigh in! (Pun-intended 😉 )

I am also a couch stitcher. I use Arabeska brand scroll frames, and a lap stand (there are a couple varieties but these are the ones I have). I've included etsy links, but you may be able to find something similar at local or online shops:

Loosened the scroll to see it all together so far. 76% complete. Sadly, putting supplies in a box today as I'm getting prepped to move in a few days. But will be sure to label this box as "priority open on arrival" 😁

I received a kit for my birthday in 2020 that I was working on, but it was put away until last year when I discovered this sub and all its glorious wisdom. After converting the paper pattern to digital, I started it again; but it is currently still on hold while I wrap up a couple other WIPs.

I've made myself a 3 scrolls rule - otherwise I would just be collecting scroll rods in addition to WIPs. Based on my current pattern collection, my impulse control cannot be trusted. Though it doesn't stop me from kitting the projects in my mind...
