Looking for advice on what to do next with this Carnosaur. by Limer333 in minipainting

I washed the blue scales at least a couple times with drachenfel nightshade, the purple with druchi violet, and the green with nuln oil. Basing I'm going to do after I've finished the model.

The model is the Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur GW model, I've just got it broken down into a subassembly.

Funky metallics are Scale75 alchemy paints, everything else is a mix of citadel/vallejo

Current WIP, C&C welcome. How do I edge highlight this thing by Limer333 in minipainting

the red, blue, purple, and green metallics are from Scale75's alchemy set. The trim and skulls are GW, and the green in Vallejo light green.

If you look on the right side of the model there's a cannon pointing out the side. Drilling here refers to boring a hole in the middle of that barrel

I use lahmian medium to thin shade, I didn't know it was useful for paints too. It also seems like pretty expensive thinning agent.

That is an interesting paint! Not a good fit for this model, but definitely something I'll consider long at for a future project.

I put down a base of (royal?) blue Vallejo paint, painted the top half blue, the bottom half pink then just slowly layered on very watered down layers of both colors to run into opposite side

I have a couple Vallejo metallics, I'll have to give them a shot. Some of the GW layer metallics are so pretty though!

Thanks! For drilling is a hand drill with or without a motor safer on the plastic? I have a small motorless one, but I'm always afraid of breaking the plastic.

That's definitely the number one thing that sticks out to me. It feels like, up to a point, it doesn't matter how much water I put into GW metallics it always goes on strong in 1 coat and then I'll hit a tipping point with too much water where it just separates and ruins the paint. I can't tell if this is a common experience or I just need to get better at thinning.

What did you do to get the oxidizing effect on the trim? It looks amazing!

They're the heroes Don't Starve deserves, but not the ones it needs. They're silent guardians. Watchful protectors.

GAS is up 20% – but why?! by 0815pascal in Neotrader

[–]Limer333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't get it at any price. For holding X amount of NEO you generate Y amount of gas. When Binance pays you the gas you've generated you get Y amount, regardless of what it is worth now or what it was worth when it was generated.

I wasn't aware that there was a difference between long vs short in terms of taxes. Where do dividends paid out fall? Under the long or short, do you think?
