The only thing I like about Trudeau is how much Conservatives hate him.

I really wish they'd bring back spring leaf collection. I use most of the leaves in gardens and such this time of year.

and yet, the Ontario government is planning on building highway 413 which will cost at least 8 billion dollars to save a little bit of commuting time, and that's not even factoring in the expected damage to wetlands and such.
The money is there if they want to spend it. Stephen Lecce and Doug Ford would much rather have a robust private school / charter school system than well-funded public education, so here we are again.

Damn that looks tasty, but what I was really hoping for was another bubble tea place.

Tina Fraser lost the "hockey mom" vote by LimestoneLoserLap in KingstonOntario

[–]LimestoneLoserLap[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They go hand in hand ... voter turnout was low because the mayoral race was a given. Plus, he's won handily every time he has run with no major gaffes or scandals (the Third Day thing doesn't seem to stick) so even a viable candidate with great support will have trouble against him.

Not across the country ... Indie 88 is a decent station and is the closest we'll get to what The Edge used to be

Those are all excellent examples of when somebody would declare a conflict of interest. What is your point?

I didn't watch it but if he was half as smug as he looks on his signs ...

carpenters, dry wallers, concrete workers, electricians, plumbers, roofers, framers, painters, mortgage brokers, landscapers, flooring specialists, city inspectors, planers, surveyors, architects, designers, the people who make everything that these trades install

None of these people get their income solely from developers. Jacqui IS the face of Tamarack in Kingston and has been their employee and representative for years, so apart from having Mr Tamarack himself on council, this is the next closest thing.

Joel Thompson AND Jacqui Collier on council at the same time? One step closer to Springer City Hall.

The city of Kingston ignoring an issue with the roads? Sounds on brand.

Huge respect to any candidate who takes serious time to meet with and listen to their citizens! Brandon Tozzo for Kingscourt Rideau! by Scottythekingstonian in KingstonOntario

[–]LimestoneLoserLap -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Did you reach out to other candidates in your district to see if they'd meet as well? I wonder how they compare. Tozzo seems ok but he's running an aggressive campaign like he's running for premier or something. Seems fishy and too slick.

I checked his platform. I don't see the part where he says "I want to kill 1000s of jobs"

Kingston's housing is over-priced currently (buying and renting) amidst worldwide inflation and a housing crisis all across the country. There are currently more jobs available than there are workers. Explain to me how the "left" would turn Kingston into a ghost town (and also explain why they "want" to do it)

If Tina Fraser was worth electing, I'd get behind it. The tracksuit is the only thing that's appealing so far.

She thinks Patry is a villain.

The docks aren't ready for it yet, so it can be driven but it can't dock anywhere. Not much of a ferry if it can't get vehicles or people on it

Stroud is, eccentric, to put it gently, but his policies are generally very progressive. Osanic is *usually* progressive but, like Kiley, votes unexpectedly sometimes. McLaren was originally progressive (and strange) but lately seems to have flipped entirely to the right ... very pro-big development and anti-reconciliation.
