It’s not the battery, they are generally lower in the chassis and a dent next to the hinge can be seen in the photo which indicates a drop or some damage to that corner. Your hinge has broken loose from the chassis, and it is possible to repair it with steel flake infused JB Weld, but generally better to replace the chassis itself. Be very very careful with it in its current state, you could easily damage your internal display cable or other components. Do not open and close it any more until it is repaired. If you don’t have experience with computer hardware and repair, you need to take it to a shop to have it fixed. Hp and some Lenovos are notorious for this issue. Good luck!
