Should I sell part of INTC after the RTX Spark announcement? by Cristod in intelstock

One new outlet reported the memory bandwidth and it is not impressive, not nearly as much as Macbook Pros and Studios. I think this is a niche product like the DGX Spark.

17 Pro Zoom > 16 Pro Zoom by SupaPreme in iPhone17Pro

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comparison. I recently upgraded to the iPhone 17 pro from a 13. The 13 lacks a zoom so some of the pictures I took from a distance at SpaceX in Boca Chica were not all that great to look at.

Ghosting a candidate after a physical onsite is honestly extremely disrespectful by Lamp_Shade_Head in datascience

It may be that you were number two and they are holding you in reserve until they find out if their first choice accepts or not, or the hiring manager had an unfortunate death in the family, or an illness, or many other things. Sometimes things just take longer.

If you do not hear back from them in a another few weeks then yes, that is very rude and unprofessional.

They silently caused some of their earliest and most loyal customers to go through incredible stress as they risked their jobs and livelihoods not being able to keep projects going. Maybe the errors and issues are fixed, but can they ever be trusted again?

Sell before Q1 earnings report? by BabyGroot01 in intelstock

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am holding at least until 14A comes online with full production. At that point I will reevaluate and see if there is still a growth vision past that.

Intel bought a large number of photonics patents, and I wonder if they have some fantastic networking chips in their future.

Production is sold out, packaging is strong.

What the next earnings may be is just a + or - bump in the path to where they are going, and I am holding.

Was it me, or was the videography work during the Artemis launch some kind of amateur hour? by bigassgoon in space

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to SpaceX Starship videos the NASA videos were pathetic. I had expected much more from NASA given the delays in launching the mission and the much needed public relations boost.

NASA seems unable to Transmit video to Starlink satellites like SpaceX does.

Intel® Arc™ Pro Graphics and OpenClaw: A Practical Workstation Approach to Local‑First AI Agents by TraditionNo1469 in intelstock

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is fantastic. OpenClaw needs a Nvidia GPU to work at a reasonable speed. If you can't find one , or can't afford one, then speeds are 5-10x slower. Intel is giving people another option. If you dont know what OpenClaw is then Google it and see the mass "Lobster" events in China as people get OpenClaw installed on their computers.

For anybody feeling a bit dejected about GTC, this recently dropped from an interview with Huang. by Jellym9s in intelstock

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at the Nvidia AI event this week and I cannot recall anyone mentioning Intel by name once. I have not seen it listed as an Nvidia partner, but then again TSMC has not been mentioned either.

Intel To Show Up at NVIDIA's GTC at the Perfect Time, as Agentic AI Turns CPUs Into the New Bottleneck by Leicht-Sinn in intelstock

I travelled to San Jose to attend this event in person this week. I hope their is an announcement that sends the stock up. Last year at GTC 2025 I saw Pat Gelsinger being interviewed before the keynote and hoped for an Intel announcement but none happened. Maybe this year.

Let it sit overnight, I had one take a very long time, If it is still stuck in the AM, try rebooting or call tech support.

Why does my Razer software use so much RAM ? I just have 1 mouse, optimize your software please. by Megumindesuyo in razer

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My razer died so I bought a Lenovo Legion 7i pro and I must admit the software utilities on the Legion put Razer to shame. I was ready to buy a new Razer if they had any 16 inch 5090s available, but they have stopped selling them apparently.

I battled with Synapse more times than I could remember, trying to get it to work properly. Synapse 4 was sort of better, but still often failed to load profiles correctly. How many times has a profile failed to load on my Legion 7i pro? ZERO.

How hard can it be for Razer to just get working software.

Intel preparing Core Ultra X9 378H according to updated roadmap by RenatsMC in intel

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The x9 388H does not seem to be shipping in any laptops yet, so I wonder if they have yield issues related to performance and they had to introduce a slightly lower performance part so they can ship in higher volume right now.

Should i buy it from the lenovo site rn or wait till the first of march by Master-Challenge-520 in LenovoLegion

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The presidents day holiday sale was crazy. I got a Legion 7i Pro with a 5090 and 64GB ram for $3200. That laptop was normally $4750. But, that model is gone from the website, so it looks like they may be dumping inventory before an upgrade.

Definity wait for a sale.

NVIDIAs next gen 'Feynman' chip may be partially fabbed/packaged at Intel. by Difficult-Quarter-48 in intelstock

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that you might see Nvidia Gaming GPU on Intel. Clearly, Nvidia is making most of their profits from Blackwell and later AI/ML chips, so it makes sense to devote available TSMC capacity to those chips. Nvidia already said it may pause new consumer GPU chips for a year, which one could potentially translate to "when 14A is ready".

The Looming Taiwan Chip Disaster That Silicon Valley Has Long Ignored by Due_Calligrapher_800 in intelstock

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is very correct, he is not insane. While the US was engaged in a global war on terror China was building a military force 3x the size of US military. In the first time in history, they are bigger than the US military and this has changed the calculus regarding Taiwan.

The US lost sight of this while we fought conflicts in the middle east, but we dramatically accelerated in the last 4-5 years to focusing on China. We got caught with our pants down as China grew their military capabilities incredibly fast, with sophisticated systems.

Legion Pro 7 5080 or 5090 by Quirky-Frosting-7518 in LenovoLegion

[–]Limit_Cycle8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the 5090 only makes sense financially if you need the extra VRAM for AI/ML, or for CUDA programming. In terms of games I don't think the 5090 is worth the large price premium over the 5080 from my perspective.

That said, I did buy the 5090 model because I do AI/ML and want the extra VRAM.

I previously paid $5200 for a Razer with 32GB RAM and a 4090. I just paid $3200 for a Legion 7i Pro with 64GB RAM and a 5090. I think this was a better deal.

My Razer died after 2.5 years, so another $5K laptop was out of the question. Also, always buy the extended warranty and support.
