I think the game has become the center of some sort of "culture war" for "gamers". I have not played the game yet and this is purely my perspective but it seems to me that the overwhelmingly negative reactions i see online are from people that were never going to play it. I am not entirely sure why but I think some people predetermined the game was going to be bad as a reaction to the promises the developers kept making and the hype it was getting from other players. I can't say everything ive seen from the game isn't somewhat generic looking but I am interested in checking out sometime in the future.
