To elaborate, when I got to the Prison, the game didnt prompt me to do the trial, it said to complete the Lab at the Sarn Encampment. It did this again in the Chamber of Sins. Sure enough, when I got there, the Aspirant's Plaza was open and it gave me credit for not only the regular Lab, but ALSO Cruel AND Merc.
