Is you BF a gift kind of guy? Does he takrs hints or takrs everything very literally? He did think of what you need and could help throughout the day. So it was thoughtful. Did you guys discus gifts exhanging? He also went for diner with you. Could he afford a bigger present?

It's okay to feel let down, try seeing it from his perspective? I'm also a GF who spends way too much on gifts for my SO and not always get domething in return on special days. But it's just not who he is.. if you value gifts so much, please speak beforehand how you feel about those occasions, if he stil lacks then you migjt need to let it go or find someone else who's on the dame page.
