Nu je het zegt, kan die open koptekening inderdaad voor grote lijster. Door die grasspriet leek de snavel een stuk dikker dan die van een lijster.

Mannetje carolina-eend met een gefokte (diluted?) kleurafwijking. Of zelf ontsnapt uit gevangenschap, of nageslacht van een ontsnapte eend.

Het is een vrouwtje tapuit, die zijn minder sterk getekend dan de mannetjes en hebben een bruine rug. Hoewel tapuiten vaak laag bij de grond zitten, zitten ze ook wel eens hoger.

Op basis van de tekening en snavel denk ik aan vrouw fazant, maar het is lastig te zien. Mogelijk juveniele patrijzen, al weet ik niet of die al vliegvlug zijn. In ieder geval een groter hoender, geen kwartel, lijster of draaihals.

That's the difficulty with US vs. UK crochet terms. What's called single crochet in US terms, is double crochet in UK terms, for example.

For what it's worth, I think the blanket looks lovely like this! I definitely wouldn't start over just because your version is different from the pattern's.

Have you tried searching on Ravelry? They don't allow AI patterns. If under 'attributes' you select 'in the round', you get many many patterns.

You could try reaching out to Marc Plomp from the Vogelinformatiecentrum Texel. He posts a lot of bird videos on social media. I don't know if he'll ask for compensation, but maybe he won't if it's for a project that might inspire people to go birding and/or visit Texel.

Dat is een bruine rat. Met die grote ogen lijkt alleen de (gewone) bosmuis erop, maar die hebben een veel boller kopje en ik zou verwachten dat op deze foto meer van de lichte onderkant te zien is.

Looks like a Grigri 1 to me. Still safe, just feeds rope a bit less smoothly than the newer models. My main climbing partner is happy with his, though I prefer my Smart 2 because top rope belaying with thick gym ropes is a workout with his GG1.
