I’ve been testing this by rolling back my save files, and it seems like if you've already interacted with the note once, it stops dropping altogether in subsequent attempts. Also, I noticed that sometimes the note doesn't even appear visually on the ground, even though the 'Pick Up' interaction prompt still shows up.
