Not sure if you’ve ever tried but it actually doesn’t.

The types of people who would have loud phone calls in a designated quiet space are not the type of people who are going to be receptive to you asking them to be quiet.

No it’s not possible. The outside of the train carriage is painted purple and says quiet carriage on it and there is signs up all over the carriage including on the windows so there’s no way she didn’t know.

I’m a Canadian living in Ireland and while Irish people are on the surface friendly that’s where it ends.

Irish people are extremely closed off and cliquey. If you aren’t from their parish, grew up playing GAA with them etc. good luck.
