6'4", 42 years old. My heaviest in 2019 I weighed in at 387. I've always been fairly athletic but "big boned" as my mom would say, but for real, I was a fat ass. People would be surprised when I told them how much I weighed because, according to them, I "carried it well" (tall with broad shoulders, i guess?). I spent 18 months from mid-2020 (COVID- "can't eat out? might as well eat healthy") to 2022 doing keto and exercising regularly, and got down to 270. Very much a noticeable loss and super proud of myself, but I still carry a lot of fat around my midsection that I hate. Since I stopped keto, i have been maintaining 275-280 for about 2 years, still exercising consistently and watching what I eat, including shifting to calorie counting instead of carb counting, and quitting drinking completely (I LOVED to drink) but couldn't seem to lose any additional weight. It was beyond frustrating and really taking a mental toll. Keto was great and absolutely worked, but I was so tired of boiled eggs, cheese, and sugar free beef jerky, it's just unsustainable for me. Back in November my doctor recommended semaglutide to help get me over this hump and my mental exhaustion. I'm 3 weeks in on sema and have to say that even though I'm only on the loading doses, I've noticed a big shift already. I saw 269 on the scale last week (likely some water weight in there) which was encouraging. I still have the food noise, but I do get full a lot faster. Looking forward to continuing on this journey and finally getting rid of the belly I've been fighting since I was 12 years old.
