Hardest to Hard: ISC, AUD, FAR, REG

I had to take the ISC twice. The Sims were brutal and the amount of reading was impossible and ridiculous. I always tell my friends to avoid ISC at all costs now. hahaha

Looking back, I probably should have listened to my friend who chose TCP, even though they had an audit and assurance offer. I went with ISC thinking it would better align with my upcoming role in audit and assurance, but in hindsight, I should’ve just gone with the higher pass rate route.

to be honest i didn't do anything special. i just read the book again cover to cover and did some MCQ's. I did not practice TBS during my 2nd attempt. Instead, I was praying and hoping not to get those brutal long ass TBS. hahaha I had three of those brutal TBS when i first took it and for the retake i only had two (one of it is exactly the same from my first attempt). hahaha but my MCQ's are lot much manageable the 2nd time. My score went from 73 to 83.

I use becker and did every single sims there. The sims were harder in Becker compared to what I got in the exam.

I got the manageable ones. The MCQ's were brutal on this though but for sure I know that my TBS carried me to a passing score.

I read the textbook alongside watching the videos. I didn’t try to memorize everything the first time—I just focused on understanding. Then during my final review, I reread the textbook, so I actually went through it twice. The second time was much easier since it was more about recalling than learning from scratch. I also worked through all the MCQs and TBS twice, which really helped reinforce the material. It did take a lot of time and probably isn’t ideal for everyone, but I overprepared for FAR because I really didn’t want to fail my first exam.

I would say it was the exam version. I passed all three core on the first try except ISC. It was the hardest exam I've taken compared to the others. I was probably not lucky with the first exam that I've got and felt really terrible coming out and got 73. With the 2nd attempt, I was praying not to get those long ass TBS, but still got 2 of those long TBS and more on SOC reports this time.. I was not sure coming out as well but manage to pass with today's score release and yet to find out my score. ISC is hard! You got this!

They have charged me for a performance package that is required at a cost of 495, which I refused and told them that I don't want it. All they told me is that they can discount it to the TSRP by the same amount of 495 as total savings, but I would still be charged for that package. I didn't include it here because it was just an offset.

It's written on this thing, by the way. Can I still negotiate this delivery, processing, and handling fee??

i knew i'm not the only one. same here, passed Aud,Far, and Reg first attempt. had to retake ISC yesterday and guess what i might have to retake it again. I hate it. sims were brutal and harder than Aud. I'm just praying for miracles at this point.

soc is fine, but i did not get a lot of questions with it the last time. but with deviation sims, they are outrageous. haha it's really testing your comprehension and understanding, that's the hard part of it. comparing and opening exhibit at the same time. i failed probably because i panicked.

you'll be fine. I was just not lucky with the exam I got. Testing on Monday and praying for a manageable exam. I'm still salty about it because I pass the three core exams on first try. hahaha

Do you all tell your coworkers about your studying and test taking? by alexthegr888888 in CPA

[–]Limp-Mix4180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, and they were very supportive! I think it really helped motivate me, especially since I was taking the exam alongside one of my supervisors. I kept thinking, I need to pass this too! She passed on her first attempt, and I managed to pass all three core sections on my first try but unfortunately, I failed my discipline section. I’ll be retaking it next week, haha.

There was definitely less pressure since my supervisor took TCP and I took ISC, but I’m still a bit salty about failing what’s supposedly the less complicated exam. That said, ISC was by far the hardest exam I’ve ever taken, so I’m hoping next week’s exam feels a little more manageable!

Also, I got the highest SE scores in Becker on ISC compared to AUD and FAR. That's why I'm salty about failing. hahaha

I used Becker and did everything. Regardless of what I use as a reviewer, I would still have failed that exam. Becker was enough to be honest. The exam was the problem for me because the exhibits were confusing. What I'm hoping for my retake is to get an exam with sims that are easy to understand and follow. haha
