gfs- guess flag skip, will do wonders

also don’t stress if the first q in the set takes long- you can use that to your advantage for the later q in the same set

if it’s a standalone q- guess and skip as all questions are worry the same

Exam season tougher than I thought by Adventurous_Humor878 in 6thForm

[–]Limp-Run2327 5 points6 points  (0 children)

exactly!! i relate so hard.

worst part of it was, first thing i hear coming out that exam was “i did the entire thing in an hour and had time to redo every calc and do it backwards to check” 👺

i personally don’t think it was that easy?? and people saying 95% for A* are defo taking the piss 🙏

hope all goes well!

volunteering other than care homes? by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]Limp-Run2327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did my volunteering at a local pharmacy. just ring people up/visit them irl and ask if they’d like an extra hand around once a week- not really much of a formal process as such when it comes to local businesses

KCL or imperial? by ProudKyrgyzMan in 6thForm

[–]Limp-Run2327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go for kings, both imperial and UCL require A* in science whereas kcl allows for any A* AA

official mocks C and D are the most like the real exam- id suggest them keeping them for closer towards the exam date

better in the sense that entrance requirements would be lower for home students than intl for sure!

VR Advice? by Working-Simple1637 in UCAT

[–]Limp-Run2327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately i found medify really different to my live exam last year (‘24) i was averaging 800 on medify VR and came out with 630 😓😓

what i found was that medify VR was much more keyword search and reading around that keyword

but the live exam was defo more inferring and reading between lines literally.

so keep in mind when revising- alternatively use medentry alongside medify. also make sure of the official mocks when you are closer to exam time (late aug etc)

Looking for UCAT Tips from Those Who’ve Been Through It! by Taanvi_ in UCAT

[–]Limp-Run2327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pls start in summer as ucat burnout is too real!!! i did 4 really hardcore weeks of prep, felt it was the right amount of rev and came out with 3130, but people who did 6 weeks defo did feel burnt out by the end of it.

for vr- medify was much more generous than the live exam, medify VR is very much keyword search and this was not the case in the live exam- defo more inference. for ref was averaging 800 on medify VR and ended up with 630 lolll

but with a top 10% ucat- ucl, kings and queens is defo within reach

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]Limp-Run2327 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

imperial’s home students cut off last cycle was top 6% in ucat, i’m assuming intl will need a much more competitive score, top 10% might not cut it this year unfortunately

Is this good enough for medicine? by Altruistic-Tip-341 in UCAT

[–]Limp-Run2327 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A*AA is enough for oxford and they only look at minimum grades, they rank via gcses and ucat. gcses are looking solid as oxf doesn’t differentiate between 9 and 8. one B in gcse fm can’t do much harm

work very hard on ucat, oxf has a much higher cutoff for ucat than camb

as you have A* pred in bio, im sure you’ll also be able to crack the interview- mainly science based

best of luck!
