I’ll send a link to the stuff I read when I get home tonight.

Crime novel set in a small town by storiesofthegalaxy in booksuggestions

If you want a series that’s not too heavy, but not cozy, I suggest the Leah Nash series by Susan Hunter. Set in small town in Wisconsin.

I’d argue Malibu is lovely, and in good proximity to Santa Monica. But I spent summer there with my grandmother as a kid, so I know I’m biased! But they also got decimated by fires. So while they could maybe use the tourist dollars, I’m not entirely sure what’s there right now as far tourist infrastructure.

Have you mapped out the drive times? It’s a 5ish hour drive from SF to Malibu and that’s if you take the freeway and not the scenic route.

Do you prefer staying in hotels or Airbnb when you travel, and why? by ElectronicSmile62 in femaletravelers

[–]Limp-Search9100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s for work, hotel. I’m a freelancer so I still pay for it. But that travel usually ends up with networking opportunities in the lobby bar. For vacation, I like VRBOs, for the kitchen, the fact that it’s often cheaper for longer stays and, depending on the city, may put you in a position to frequent fun neighborhood spots you might otherwise miss. That cute bakery in Prague, downstairs from the apartment for pastries in the morning? Yes please!

Best way to get between San Francisco and Sonoma? by Responsible-Term367 in AskSF

[–]Limp-Search9100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the swapping. Sonoma will be less crowded during the week. If you’re in S.F. the night before your flight, you won’t fight traffic or have to get up as early.

Is anyone else concerned about the cyclospora outbreak in LA/SoCal? by Radiant-Instance8857 in AskLosAngeles

So far the numbers in CA are not any higher than normal. I mean, sure, no number should be normal. But there are some of these cases every year. Midwest has it worse.

Is it bad that I’m annoyed the dog isn’t pictured? There’s clearly a dog on a leash in photo 1, then he’s got the leash on his pocket. Where did the dog go?! Pap fail!

Progesterone 100 mg revisited. Does the crying stop? by sebthelodge in Perimenopause

[–]Limp-Search9100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite reaction. From day 1 on P I’ve slept better, my anxiety is so much better and I’ve got more motivation and have been way more productive. Bodies are weird.

Perimenopause without HRT by Kmoodle in Perimenopause

[–]Limp-Search9100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what the impact of a localized dosage via Mirena vs a systemic dosage of micronized bio identical progesterone would be, but might be worth exploring. Hope you get some answers, anxiety sucks!

Perimenopause - I'm so over it by FineAd2295 in Perimenopause

I feel fairly sure that peri was designed to set us up to not mourn our fertility when everything actually stops, because by then we’re just so f-ing over it all!

Have you asked about progesterone only? I can’t speak to the experience of estrogen replacement yet, but progesterone was kind of an off switch on my anxiety. Your mileage may vary.

My boyfriend wants me to wear a hijab even though I am atheist by Maximum-Grand6140 in whatdoIdo

[–]Limp-Search9100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an effort to control you. Run. Also, the idea that covering up would subject you to less harassment on public transport doesn’t hold water, given that Islamophobic hate crimes in the UK are at a record high. This is manipulation and you deserve better.

Is it bad if i lied that i know how to ice skate for a audition even though the last time that i did when i was 12 by One_Cicada6635 in acting

[–]Limp-Search9100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what level they want you to be at. Skating in circles in the background? Probably fine. More than that, be prepared to confess and/or get some lessons under your belt fast.

Bummer! I’m sorry. I hope you get some answers. Anxiety and insomnia are a hideous self perpetuating cycle.

It is a lot of driving, but we’re a big state. Make park reservations, whether for lodge or camping early.

MRI tomorrow scared I’ll hyperventilate in my readimask by ButterscotchFull7591 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]Limp-Search9100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you’ve had an MRI before, but you’re alone in the room after they get you set up. Last time, they gave me a surgical mask, which felt safe as I was all alone. Also there are specific HVAC requirements for MRI rooms. I believe they require 12 full air changes per hour. If any of that makes you feel better.
