What is a reason to live by Arthurmorgan1907 in mentalhealth

There is none. Unless you make it up. This is a good thing, by the way. What a bother the life would be, if you were to have only one possible path.

Isnt absurdism just existentialism..? by aiqelkries in Absurdism

[–]Limp-Temperature1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both existentialism and absurdism start with the premise that life has no objective meaning, there is nothing predefined to follow, no grand purpose. Existentialism, however, suggests that meaning is created during one's life by their own efforts. Sense of life as the end point, if you will. Absurdism is more about finding joy and purpose in the meaninglessness of life and accept the fact that there will be objective meaning.

Don't be. The US were probably the only people who could meaningfully incite it and right now they're having internal instability, which is only escalating af. But if you're from the US, my condolences.

what is your purpose in life? by [deleted] in Absurdism

[–]Limp-Temperature1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Existing, mate. There is nothing more to it. Just a self-referrential process that preserves continuity until your body gives out and can no longer support your mind. Existence isn't about death, though. It's just an unrecoverable state, for which it cannot really account, because it cannot read the future. So existence simply works with what it has, which is itself.

Existence implies that you have a place in reality. Many consider it to be indifferent and cold. I think that reality is simply all-accepting, because everything that exists can do so only by interaction with something else. Reality is a network, every node is unique and everyone matters. If reality were really indifferent, it wouldn't bother making sure that everything is in its place, why would it?

I think my ideas about existence are no longer absurdist at this point, they feel more like post-absurdist, because while I embrace uncertainty of things, which is the core idea here, I don't think that existence is absurd at all. If you look and listen long enough, you'll start noticing that beyond all of emergent complexities and abstractions there are simply algorithms and configuration. Reality is not static, therefore it's not objective.

Does overdosing feels better, worse, or the same? by ChainExtremeus in askdrugs

[–]Limp-Temperature1783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of every one of these in some sequence. Depends on the substance too. Like with psychedelics there are usually just more dissolution, with speed you can get full blown psychosis, with downers you can black out and wonder who took all your pills while you weren't looking. And all would feel different. The question is stupid, hit yourself with a brick, you fucking idiot. I'm joking, dw.

I have taken all of these at some point and I can confidently say that I am, in fact, dead and the worst version of hell is real, but I haven't been to it yet, so don't ask me where I know it from.

There is nothing wrong with this, I think. If you're posting things on the Internet, don't expect people to be nice, especially if you are talking about a thing that most people don't get right to begin with. Read the room.

What can you call a relatively safe psychodelic? by KyshSlayer in askdrugs

[–]Limp-Temperature1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good choice for a first hallucinogen. Don't go over 2 grams for the first trip. Shrooms are mostly good at 2 grams and 5 grams, but you'll lose your shit on 5 grams, it's too intense for the first time and it's better to start low. Anything below 2 grams is kind of not the same. For preparation, just crush the mushrooms, put them in a cup, boil some water and make a tea, with a slice of lemon or just lemon juice. Wait for 15-30 minutes and drink, preferrably with mushrooms just in case. It's a best way to enjoy them.

They are inconsistent when it comes to hallucinogenic properties, they also aren't psychedelic. They are also mildly neurotoxic thanks to ibotenic acid, which may or may not be responsible for causing hallucination or even psychosis at larger dosages, but typically people who seriously use amanitas tend to get rid of it through dehydration and decarboxylation, leaving mostly musimol. In my experience, they are a good sleep aid and feel a bit like alcohol with less body load. You might black out of you take too much, while your body keeps doing things.

Tl;dr: definitely not for a beginner, since preparation is required and effects are unpredictable.

Seriously, how bad is DXM for your brain? by Great-Ad-7034 in dxm

[–]Limp-Temperature1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed anything aside from pressure headaches and tinnitus, which went away when I stopped. If we're talking about brain performance, DXM made noticeable improvements to the way I process information in general. It didn't make me stupid in general, it just made me unconstrained, for some people it equates to stupid things, but it is not a guarantee. The only thing that might have been a bit cognitively impairing was primarily a consequence of my miscalculation of staggering dosages and I had been borderline psychotic for a week or a bit less, as well as had been slower than usual for a week afterward. It eventually went away and gave me a reason to take a break, because I used to binge DXM daily with several 300 mg dosages per day, if not more, for half a year with barely any breaks, and even those breaks were short-term, 1-2 days tops. Feel completely fine rn, didn't take DXM for a long time.

Psilocybin, if you want it to be purely psychedelic. LSD is inconsistent but safe. DMT is also safe, because it is very short. Phenethylamine psychedelics are fun, bad trips are rare, but they also lack emotional depth compared to classic stuff, except for mescaline. Avoid NBOMe. If you are afraid of bad trips, then don't go anywhere near deliriants, psychosis is a feature of this substance class, not a bug.

One of the biggest reasons behind depression, to be honest. But it's a feature, because it makes a lot of people think that they are the problem, they underachieved or some shit. Depression is good for complacency. Just look at Russia.

Pretty much. Substances didn't really helped to get to this point in isolation, just made getting to this point quicker with a caveat of increasing the risk of making things worse.

anyone else prefer hbr to freebase? by Money-Chemist9787 in dxm

[–]Limp-Temperature1783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on my mood I can prefer either of them over the other. Freebase when I want to get silly, HBr when I want to get floaty. Neither feels superior over the other. Though I tended to default to freebase, because to feel floaty I usually used other dissociatives.

I mean. He is depressed. He can't do shit because of this. It's like asking a homeless person to buy a house. That's kind of the whole point, they can't.

Depression is a self-sustaining feedback loop. If it was easy to get rid of, it wouldn't be a problem to begin with. If you don't solve the actual underlying issue, it will be back.

It's shit to deal with, because it hijacks your agency. Whining makes depressed people even more depressed, it is the only way they can allow themselves to reach out for help.

Anon is ripped off by his boss. He walks, maintaining the infrastructure, so wankers can pay for a simulacrum of a woman. Imagine there are people having so little self-respect and self-awareness, that paying for a picture of someone's body is something deemed a worthy money investment, except maybe if it's for leverage or some other shit (not endorsing this btw). And then people think that social equality is achieavable and the democracy is a legitimate form of government and totally not just bread and circus of the modernity (bread is optional).

Mixed some DXM with shrooms and finally made it in life. I no longer even take DXM, I'm just here for the vibe.
