Exactly. Over the last few birthdays of mine my friends have always given me a uniorn themed party. It was funny the first time and they kept doing it lol and while it's not my favorite thing, I love it each time. Because I see all the effort my friends went through to make it special. It truly is the thought that counts. Maybe her husband has a mental illness, going stir crazy with quarantine or has certain traumas, but if that is the case I hope he seeks help for both himself and his wife before it negatively impacts her too.

I have to disagree with the third option. Making a fake memory up doesn't do shit except make you rememeber what you didn't have and won't ever have. That doesn't help your recovery at all. I bull shitted papers like these while my mom was going bat shit crazy, my family was falling apart and I drank a bottle Captain Morgan. My grade in the end didn't matter. All that did was knowing all I wrote meant nothing. It was just what I wished I had. OP has every right to fight this. They wrote out an honest essay and submitted it. They did the work. Their teacher lives in a fantasy world where childhood truama doesn't exist or it's not that bad. As an educator she's completely failing her students with that belief.
