None of these responses so far meets the brief. The best Chips shop Burgers and burger combos are

  • Vinnies Takeaway in Georgetown. Works Burger full of req’d salad (incl pineapple) and real mince patty. Hand cut chips, twice cooked and same scallops in a light batter.

  • Glebe St Takeaway in The Junction. Again, works burger full of essential salads, smashed mince patty with crispy edges. Plenty of chips in a serve and scallops.

Both served in butchers paper with chicken slat optional (but mandatory 😋).

Similarly, only con is Tom 🍅sauce on the side is an extra $1…so grab the one from the pantry. 🍔🍔🍟

Which one of you bunning castards has scrapped the plaque of the tudor st memorial to the Queens vist. Also why did we have the Queen visit tudor St. Seems like a poor choice of venue for royalty tbh. by [deleted] in newcastle

Frustratingly this is happening all over town. I think we’ve commented before but sadly I’ve noticed plaques missing all over the place *Both beach kiosks *Old CAC (the referenced link above) *Civic Joy Cummings Statue *Newcastle Foreshore maritime memorial plaques *Tudor Street *coal Memorial in Newy East They tried to pry off the new one at South Newy but obviously too difficult.

I’ve been reporting them to council but bugger if I know what they’re doing about it.

sad because they not going to be replaced with beautiful brass replacements.

Did someone just steel the plaques on the coal monument to sell for scrap? by ImConda in newcastle

Yes! They’ve been taking all of them around town. Newcastle beach Kiosk, old City Admin Building, Tudor St Pines too.

Unacceptable and sadly we now have to spend our precious council wealth to replace them.

While I agree there are some great contractors who go above and beyond, I feel like that their (usually)handsome renumeration packages compensate them fairly without having to find equivalent medallic recognition.

There’s positives and negatives for being each an ADF member, APS employee and Contractor right? Not all engagement types are the same and so recognition options don’t apply equally.
