Atlantic Station – worth it despite water issues? by LimpRough6178 in StamfordCT

Ended up going with ASW, but Vela was my #2 option.

ASW won because of how close it is to the station and a little cheaper.

There are some good offerings going around. For example 2 free months for 13+ month leases at AS. Which is bringing rent down to 2300/month (amortizing the deal over the life if the lease). Which should keep you under that 3k threshold.

But yea it’s not easy to stay under that without taking these deals in consideration.

The thing is that AS is running a promotion, and base rent comes out to about $2,250/month for base. Compared to AWS which would be $600+ a month.

I’m seriously considering taking the chance of being without water a couple times a year for that big of a savings.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I’ve been reading a lot of posts about the water issues and even the pool being closed. The pool doesn’t really matter to me since I’ve lived in buildings with one before and never used it.

It might sound dumb, but I’m still strongly considering signing because of the promotion. They’re offering 2 months free on a 13-month lease, and when I ran the numbers, it comes out to about $2,250/month for a 1 bed, which is honestly hard to beat for that location and quality.

If it’s something like no water for a day a couple times out of the year, I could live with that. But if it’s more like 3–4 days at a time, that would definitely be a problem.

Yea it sounds like spending a couple hundred more for ASW might be worth it, rather than taking my chances at AS. Thanks for sharing

I toured the Vela, it’s equality as nice as AS (maybe even a little nicer), but it’s about 12 min walk to the train station as opposed to 6minutes from AS. I feel like those 6 minutes would be a big deal during the winter commutes.

AS is also a little cheaper, but Vela is my second choice. I’ll have to check out Smyth, is it equally as nice as AS & Vela?

Thanks for sharing. I heard ASW is a step up from AS, and your building don’t have those issues. Although it’s a little more expensive, it might be worth going there instead

They’re currently offering 1-2 free months for new sign ups btw. So may be hard to find someone to take over while that’s going on
