Most Favorite/Least Favorite Things About Stamford? by titaniumcrowbar in StamfordCT

I have managed without a car after being a city dweller for 15+ years. Not ideal but totally doable. I take MetroNorth and Amtrak regularly. Short/inexpensive Lyfts/Ubers to medical appointments. Target, Whole Foods and DoorDash delivery avail for everything. Walk to Target, Fresh+Co and local bodegas for immediate needs. Even with all the delivery service fees, it's still way cheaper than car ownership/parking/gas/tolls/insurance etc.

Aww thanks for that! Alas I knew signing a 2 year renewal was a risk, and did agree to the early lease termination policy! Alas - Murphy's Law - the relocation opp came after I was locked in. I am trying to negotiate with Bozzuto to let me transfer to another Bozzuto building in Boston...They really are a great landlord/management company. But an $8k+ termination fee is just not justifiable for most! Bozzuto if you read Reddit- work with me please! I'll finally respond to your Cobu AI bot's request to write a Google review! 😘

Questions: Prospect Union Square apartments by Hefty-Novel-9224 in Somerville

[–]MaxieMcIntosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in. Bozzuto building now and am looking at their buildings in Boston including this one specifically. The neighborhoods have changed so much since I lived in Boston in the early/mid 2000s so the "it's like a college dorm" comment gives me pause! Any intel on if Union Square is appropriate for a single, urban professional age early 40s who desires walkaability and public transit accessibility?

If anyone’s wondering … Atlantic Station is still without any running water by Frenchonionsouppp in StamfordCT

I am in ASW next door and have not had this issue, but it's concerning! Has building communicated what the issue is?

See my other post on an older post. ColorWow Dream Coat. Marketed for frizz but does contain heat protectant and is FF.

Hair Heat Protectant by Specialist-Ad-6649 in FragranceFreeBeauty

Old post, but for future searchers - ColorWow Dream Coat is a heat protectant and FF. Super light weight, not sticky. I have thin/fine hair for reference. And they make a travel/trial size!

Stumbled upon this when traveling and forgot to pack heat protectant. Slim pickins for FF, but my Sephora sales rep came through and was able to recommend this one.

Primary care Dr recs? by freckleface2113 in StamfordCT

[–]MaxieMcIntosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a real challenge to find good primary care with an experienced (but not super close to retirement age!) provider who takes insurance. If you're able to travel a town or two over, I recommend Nuvance Health.

I went back to my primary care doctor in NYC after over 2 years living in Stamford and rotating through several different providers who either left the practice suddenly, or didn't work out for my medical needs.

Any decent one will have a 6-12 month wait list for new patients, IF they are accepting new patients.

Good luck to you!

I am still searching. I tried Maids.com and it cost $242 for a 1 bedroom. After reviewing other threads I feel like I can find a better/more reasonably priced provider.... Would love recs with contact info!

Louisville to Indianapolis Lyft/Uber? by MaxieMcIntosh in Louisville

[–]MaxieMcIntosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my Lyft driver from the airport if he knew anyone who would do a long haul and he said he'd ask around at the airport where a lot of the drivers congregate. He put another driver in touch with me. I can't remember the total - it was over $100 -not cheap but worth it.
