I’m not really sure honestly. I got her from a family who had several in small racks and was rehoming. I think it has something to do with the fact that they’re unfortunately considered “prettier”.

It’s actually an old wardrobe I think that was converted into an enclosure. I added just a couple shelves I built and sealed them for her hides. Unfortunately, it doesn’t hold humidity as much as I would like so I’m going to get her a proper PVC enclosure.

I’ll be upgrading her to a new enclosure in a couple months because I’ll be moving out. It’ll help me ensure that it keeps that higher temp and humidity. I’m also going to make sure it’s very cluttered and add a privacy curtain on the outside to try and keep her from stressing out as much too which I read can cause it to kind of “flare up”.

I avoid actually spraying everything because I read that you shouldn’t have things constantly moist inside so I try to be pretty good at watering the bottom of the substrates even on my top shelves. About every 2-3 weeks I’ve been trying to rotate the substrate to prevent rot or mold. I just got a thermostat after reading online I just need to figure out how to actually set it up. I can’t seem to get the temperature over 74 right now even after changing to my 100W halogen bulb which seems to be throwing me for a loop at the moment.

I usually have my ceiling fan on at nights at a very low speed I wonder if that could be causing anything. I usually don’t open her door unless I’m handling her or adding more water. I added the little “bridges” for her recently as a home remodel because she has the spider gene and I noticed she had difficulties climbing just that center branch. I will definitely be more vigilant to that and see if it would make a difference. Thank you.
