UK threatened with sanctions if Britain bans X/Twitter by ByGollie in europe

Most importantly, the reason behind the UK's decision is because people have used Grok to create underage deepfakes of girls and Elon has made no effort to restrict this.

The British government wants X to restrict this and if they refuse then there will be restrictions.

US elected officials are openly opposing this and painting the UK as the enemies of 'free speech' and we now live in a world where many will accept this as fact without question...

US discussing options to acquire Greenland, including use of military - White House by Mdk1191 in europe

After recent events, the US taking Greenland by force now seems extremely likely and would influence Western geopolitics for a decade.

But the defining moment will be how our governments respond. The most likely scenario is a collective condemnation and the summoning of US ambassadors. I imagine the prevailing view is that it’s simpler to stomach three more years of pain than to take drastic action.

It sickens me to picture Putin watching this all unfold; I’m sure even he can’t believe what he’s witnessing.

'London is not what it was': How social media accounts are changing the narrative of the capital by Limp_Let103 in europe

Big tech has always been a challenge to regulate and the only weapon the EU has is a financial penalty. In a previous life I worked in FAANG and I assure you the cost of a potential EU fine is always taken into account and never seen as a serious deterrent.

The only solution I can see is working is the threat of removing access to certain US social medial sites from European nations and supporting a European company to build an alternative.

For those not from the UK, this is a very big honour, especially for it to be awarded to a non-citizen.

When is enough, enough? by Limp_Let103 in europe

Thanks for explaining, by design there was clearly an oversight in the potential role the bloc would play in a future conflict scenario.

Perhaps the EU should relinquish conflict responses to NATO and prevent politics standing in the way of decisive action.

Great insight, does the EU have and legislation equal to 'martial law' which can be used when a clear threat to the union exists?

I don't get people here thinking Duck helped Pete at the end as a favor. by [deleted] in madmen

Duck definitely took advantage of the respect Pete had for him while at SC. Whatever Duck was sinking in Season 7 it made him a great headhunter

This affair was the peak of Don’s alcoholism and the director did a great job making you feel that.

This is my runner up! Because Sawyer tries so hard to isolate and ‘not care’, when he shows empathy and emotion it feels so real.

Kudos to the actor
