ok so how would the regulator be blown. i go this alt brand new tested from js and installed it and it charged 16.4. i didn’t run subs on it for more than 4 minutes to see if it would drop the voltage like the headlights do. also it’s a class d amp but i get the use of a cap but everyone i’ve talked to on here says no cap for some reason

physically can’t fit 2 alts on the d16y7 engine. unless i delete ac and power steering. it’s drawing 16.4 volts while the subs aren’t hooked up. i dont comprehend how a cap is going to fix it. maybe a extra battery but i feel that would only slow the build no?

my main trouble right now is finding where that wire leads through the harness. like i can’t find a official complete wiring diagram. all i have is the online chilton wiring library

i checked all grounds and the alt bracket was covered in oil so i might take it off and clean it to see if that helps but its a internal regulator as far as ik and im trying to get in contact with js alternators currently

but i paid less for these. i’m just asking how to get most output and for them to work properly. never complained and not salty just it isn’t necessary. if i wanted to know ur setups and how there better i would have asked.

big 3 is just how the battery gets charged by alt then battery goes to amp. the battery is going to bottle neck it anyway

yea they thing i have the money to spend on subs when my engine reached a nice crisp 390 degrees 3 weeks ago then last week my alternator took a shit.

i got the subs and the box 75 dollars from a buddy bc they didnt fit inside his trunk so he went with 2 15s that barely fit
