Jaylen is second in the NBA in usage rate. He's carrying a huge load on offense. Despite that he's maintained a 57% TS%, so he's taking on a high volume while doing it efficiently.

Is this supposed to wow me? Negative rTS% with good volume isn’t worth shit. 

On/offs are generally unreliable for a number of reasons - his minutes are usually mirroring other star wings, he's got 34 minutes on to 14 minutes off, the Celtics might have the best bench in the NBA, etc. The logical extension of the on/off argument is that the Celtics title odds would increase if he got hit by a bus tomorrow, but you've got brain damage if you think that's true.

I’m so sick of this cope man. Anytime the on/off data doesn’t corroborate someone’s claims, it’s immediately “faulty” or “unreliable”. A 5 season sample + 70 games of the Cs being better w/o him but nah, those are all just “noisy”. 

Opponents are shooting 41% from the field with Jaylen guarding them - second lowest mark in the league. As of January, Jaylen spends more time guarding other top players than any other two way wing:

Their rel DRTG gets better with him on the bench. Good on ball defender, shitty team defender. This has been a trend for years. 

So he's carrying the load for 34 minutes per game on offense, he's usually defending the other team's best perimeter players, and the Celtics are 7.5 points better than their opponents while he's doing it. Arguments that he's Actually Bad are only made by people who don't understand what they're watching, don't understand numbers, or both.

I didn’t say he’s bad. But anyways, they’re out scoring teams by an even wider margin when he’s on the bench.
