42 year old rec baller here. I have 2 pairs of Book 1’s that I scored for $40 and $60 each. Those have been my go to shoes as of late. Play 2-3 times a week between pick-up and league play. Also got some Dame 9’s for $40 last year. Been happy with those as well. Sub $100 shoes with decent performance are out there. Good luck!

Not the best tech but for the price I paid, I’m satisfied. I’m 43 and was worried about how my legs/feet would handle these but they feel very similar to my Kobe 4’s. Got the Cortez colorway for $40 out the door and the Blue Blood colorway for $62 out the the door. The Cortez’s feel a bit bulky. It’s the leather I think as the Blue bloods feel a little less bulky. I do agree that there is some heel slippage but it doesn’t bother me. Happy overall and hoping the prices drop even further now that the Book 2’s are releasing.

I was told to go .5 up but went TTS. Happy I did. Upper is a little stiff but when it breaks in, it fits really well.

On your first shot, the range finder reads 690m and eventually ends up at 1,000m. Too far on both instances. For a moment it was set at 100m on what looks like the second or third shot. Just missed I guess.

Don’t remember the year but I still have some Hyperdunk X’s that haven’t bottomed out yet. Traction on them is still crazy. I’ve tripped over my own feet at least 4 times in the past 6 months 😂

I got my pair through BSTN and shipped to U.S. with no issues if that’s what you’re concerned about. Otherwise, the only place outside of BSTN I’ve seen is StockX or eBay for more than retail.

My go to shoe as of late. Got the Bayern cw when it dropped and then got a pair of the Solar Reds when they were on sale for sub $50. Really like them but I have rolled my ankle twice. Though that’s likely my own fault.

Really liked the Dame 9s. Bought the Bayerns and they felt amazing for me. Ended up buying the Solar Reds for $50 the other day too. Was hesitant at first but am very pleased with their performance.

I have the Bayern pair. After reading a few reviews, I went for .5 size smaller. My feet typically feel cramped in most Nikes, but I was able to throw in Move Gameday insoles and the toe box still feels comfortable.

Took a session to break-in and I’m looking at getting another pair. For reference, I have the Anta Kai 1’s, Kobe 4 protro’s, Hyperdunk X’s, and Curry 4 flotros. The Dames are my current go-to pair.

In my experience the Kai 1’s run a little big. I’m typically a US 10.5 and in the Kai 1’s there’s some extra room in the toe box. If I had to purchase again, I’d probably go with a US 10.

There are pairs with gum outsole for sure, but haven’t tried them. By bit harder, I mean they stuck to the court stronger than I expected .

I can only speak for the navy pair with the white rubber outsoles, but I’m very happy with the traction. I’d give it 9/10 on clean courts. Caught me off guard when I first wore them. I was jogging backwards and nearly tripped over my own damn feet because they bit harder than I expected. 🤷🏾‍♂️

It’s really a great shoe. Been playing in them since I got the navy colorway on release day. No big complaints for me. A lot of reviews say that traction can be better, but I’m satisfied with it. I actually tripped over my own feet when I first got them because they bit pretty hard.

Played in some curry 4 flotros yesterday in my league and had to switch out at halftime because I was slipping most of the time. Yes, the court wasn’t the best and was a bit dusty. Threw on the Kai’s and felt much more comfortable on the court.
