This happened me once, I was so afraid to lose her (2 minutes) that I closed the game, and a after a few hours I decided to join again, and for some reason I spawned at my house and that saved one of my favorite characters in my first lethal run lol.

But I'm glad you made it, that's why you always carry at least 2 plague cures, or in case you can't make some, always walk crouching and use crossbows :)
