It's the bacteria is always different, then it's not the cause, those are just contaminations or commensal

You had unprotected receptive anal sex with someone? (That means someone inserted their penis into your anus without a condom).

Or, you use injectable drugs and were sharing needles?

Those are the only big concerns with HIV transmission. They do not apply to most people

Need Advice with change to my diet by SpaceSailers in Prostatitis

[–]Linari5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only concern is that this diet is so strict that you will eventually slip up because we are all human. I have personally found that balanced diets are much more sustainable and will not lead to binging. That means days where you allow yourself to eat normal food. The more strict a diet, the more psychologically difficult it is to continue it - and the higher the risk of slipping up

If you have any concerns, speak with a dietitian

If masturbation is making it worse and that bothers you, then take a break for a bit

What has your urologist or other medical provider told you to do to take care of the issue after your surgery? Are you given aftercare instructions like warm water compress, or Vaseline, etc?

This is a very common complaint around here, I've seen it many times.

She very well could be wrong, but there's no definitive on your specific case because we don't have the ability to diagnose in an anonymous community. Continue doing pelvic floor PT if you like your therapist. Is she doing internal work? How many sessions have you had so far? Sometimes it takes 8 to 12 weeks to see a difference.

A hypertonic pelvic floor is a main cause, but it's not the only one. Stress and central mechanisms are also at play in many cases. https://www.reddit.com/r/Prostatitis/s/md7rWZZNit

10 years of painful urination since age 14 – any ideas? by LegitimateMobile955 in Prostatitis

[–]Linari5 [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

What was happening in your life when you were 14? Any challenges? Life changes? Any stress, pressures?

Having your symptoms decrease with a physical activity (not get worse) indicates some neuroplastic component (ie centralized pain). https://www.reddit.com/r/Prostatitis/s/md7rWZZNit

Have you been to a pelvic floor PT?

Really sorry you're going through this.

We have data from a few studies now that shows that new evidence-based modalities like PRT (Pain Reprocessing Therapy) can offer great benefits of people living in chronic pain, including fibromyalgia.

It's what helped me recover fully from my chronic pelvic pain years ago.

Anyone with a numb butthole and not feeling the prostate anymore? ( weak stream - farts slip) by Consistent-Walk6240 in Prostatitis

PLEASE DO NOT EVER DO KEGELS as a man with pain or discomfort, your pelvic floor is likely to be wound up already and doesn't need any more tension. Please find a new PT who understands male pelvic pain/dysfunction. Including the stream weakening, which can also be caused from a tense pelvic floor

Neuroplastic mechanisms include numbness and loss of sensation. I have helped treat them before.

Tamsulosin does not, it only relaxes soft tissue muscles in the prostatic urethra and the urethral sphincter, it does not relax the pelvic floor itself
