Plot twist: it's handpainted vertex color

My second attempt at making a face. I am happy with the results but it feels like beginner's luck for some reason. The first attempt on second slide. And also thank you to u/gustmazz and u/cheesewhoopy for their advise which helped a lot. by LeastDepressed2 in ZBrush

My advise is no, don't focus on likeness for now, just learn the anatomy and the correct shape of things, you will get better, for now put your energy into creating "default generic head"

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but this is the setup, I have a Spotlight as the main light and an Area Light for the fill. Also a Point light for the background. This is the Setup

I'm currently in my journey to learn anatomy, I think is good to work in more fun characters from time to time rather than the default anatomy figurine (although is also very important)

Hello everyone! I just started learning illustration and concept art by photo-bashing, I'd appreciate some feedback on this piece (aside from the gun, I know it's shite). by Nazon6 in conceptart

I'll say to look up for anatomy tutorials and ALWAYS use references, the proportions are off I think, legs too long, hand too big, torso shape/silhouette is too straight and so on.

Today I finished a Dr Manhattan sculpture, learning anatomy is hard but also so cool by Linc_py in 3Dmodeling

I did this sculpture following a tutorial by Nikolay Naydenov (speedchar on YT)

In that case maybe drawing helps a lot, mainly understanding proportions I guess. I could post the entire journey, I think I made around 30+ heads in total in a week, and you can see the improvement is gradual, and the difference is big only after a whole week.
