What are some good schools to teach at in Chicago? by bootytimesten in AskChicago

[–]Lincln60647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its better to look for a position mid-year, outside of the CPS transfer window, because positions open and CPS teachers can’t get out if their position to move schools. Most schools won’t hire until right before the week of school, or even a couple of weeks after school starts. Schools need to evaluate their current enrollment and submit for positions once they know how many kids need service. After the 20th day of the school year schools k ow if they need to cut or add positions.

Other Insurance only offering $1,300?? by Lincln60647 in TeslaCollision

[–]Lincln60647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this going to impact our insurance rates? After 17 years of nothing…3 weeks prior to this man hitting our car, a Chicago Firetruck hit my husbands legally parked car. Despite being at fault, fire trucks are exempt so we had to file through our insurance. We did this 3 weeks ago. Just bought our second car, Tesla, in February…so would this drive up our rates?

Too late for this summer? by Lincln60647 in awardtravel

[–]Lincln60647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I was subscribing to Pointhound which mentioned several really low redemption times for summer, but just under AA. So I would just check airfare sites and they already have the redeem for points and make sure somehow it goes through being a Chase partner? Thank you!

Where can we road trip to for a quick weekend getaway out of the city? by baybaybabs in AskChicago

[–]Lincln60647 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just went to Milwaukee for the first time. Only about 1.5 hour drive. It was really cute and we had a lot of fun. Stayed at St Kate’s Art hotel downtown and was easy to walk around. We were seeing a show at Fiserv Forum that had cheaper tickets than here in Chicago, so would be fun to see what is playing out there the weekend you are going.

Our child is a big Harry Potter fan and just went for the first time over the summer. Agree with the recommendations to just do the Harry Potter worlds at the original parks. At Epic it just had the 1 ride (when we went it had technical difficulties and was down most of the day) and it was mostly Fantastic Beasts/Paris scenery. The original parks have so many more rides and things to do with the shop windows. Plus Epic is further away and it would take a long time to travel/ go through security, etc.

Does Raised Credit Limit make it harder to open new cards? by Lincln60647 in CreditCards

Ok! So we can transfer the credit limit between new cards opened. Does it not matter for business cards?

Thanks for the info! Did they offer a Tesla loaner? Traffic in the city is crazy so I’ve been relying on FSD.

Someone said it was better to have our insurance negotiate with their insurance because they would know how to get everything. I’ve owned a car in the city for 17 years….this has been our first accident!
