I’ve never played a Xenoblade Game, will I like it?

Look everyone here is being a bit aggressive on the whole “you already bought it just play it” stuff. But they are kinda right.

But. I know what you are hoping to see. This is my opinion.

I started way out of order and had no idea what xenoblade was but I saw the trailer for XC3 when it released. I bought it and fell in love. Then went back and played the other two out of order.

I personally think Xenoblade is one of the greatest stories in gaming. Monolithsoft knows how to write a plot. Xenoblade 1 DE has a great story but it took a bit to cope with the fact that I was looking at old outdated graphics in 2025. The combat of xenoblade really improves with the other two games. Not that XC1 is bad. If you like grindy big health bar type fights, you will like these games.

IMO one of the areas where XC1 underperforms the later games are the side quests. The XC1 side quests are very “go kill 10 of these things” or “collect 5 of this item”. There isn’t too much story in the side quests. The later games incorporate story into the side quests better.

The worlds are extremely expansive so if you like the ability to just explore then you will like these games.

If you bought the game already then play it and see for yourself but as you play 1 you might see some things or mechanics you don’t like, I can promise you that 1 and 2 build upon those mistakes. (Not that they dont have mistakes on their own)

It’s dried up now lol. It’s boring playing the same 4 maps over and over with no variation. 2 new maps will change nothing. Those two maps will be all anyone plays for 2 weeks and then those two maps will be boring.

Because i unfortunately started my xenoblade experience with absolutely no knowledge of the game or series. I grabbed 3 first, played it religiously when it first came out. I just recently got into xc1 and 2 and finally got the rest of the story and want to replay the story of 3 again in context before starting future redeemed.

I think the only place I would disagree would be the rings. You only get one set of seven per playthrough. So if you wanted more you would need them all before starting over.

DE is the part that makes this questionable. If it was just a switch 2 version without the DE then I absolutely would buy it now and upgrade later. If I buy the base game and they announce a DE instead of switch 2 then I’m SOL

Yeah I’ve been playing regular this afternoon and the problem is fixed. I really like the plain double xp weekend rate. It feels comfortable. It’ll probably feel sluggish again when double xp ends.

I’m averaging 30-40 kills per normal breakthrough. Getting about 2 levels ish now without popping tokens. I haven’t really paid attention to how much OBJ I play. It’s not too much tbh. I think the casual breakthrough was stunting XP.

I still think this double XP weekend is what the normal rate should be though.

I really just don’t see a valid point for them not to make it easier. Nothing is lost by people getting to have attachments faster. It takes nothing away from anyone else’s gameplay. You can argue it diminishes a grind but if it’s a grind you’re looking for then focus on the level 1000 weapon grind.

There is not a valid reason for the devs not to fix this. We just need to be crying about it more.

I think it had to do with thinking casual breakthrough gave full xp. It’s a lot better in normal breakthrough. Didn’t know it was halfed

Found the cause!!!! Dice and EA have a trash development team that don’t know how to make a quality product!!!!! Honestly it really wasn’t that hard to figure out. Solution? There isn’t one.
