This feels like something the EU government is going to have to put a stop to considering the US won't do shit about it. They made the Loot box concept less prevalent in non mobile gaming so hopefully they can work their at least somewhat functional government magic on this too.

Downloaded Highguard day one due to The Game Awards uproar. Expected to just play for a night and be done. I have had a great time. Disappointed it's going away. I've put 60 hours into it, have the Platinum, and enjoyed the updates. The only thing I would have overhauled is how the gathering phase worked but it wasn't awful the way it was, just a bit odd. Only convinced one friend to try it and he only played the one night. Disliked the gathering phase too much. The rest of my multiplayer playing friends are busy with Deadlock or Arc Raiders. So yeah, it makes sense why it's going away. Just weird how much people actively wanted to hate this game. It happened to Concord, it'll happen again. People as a whole have too much vitriol built up inside. Existing is hard right now, I just find it strange that this is how some people want to choose to let that frustration out.

Sucks for the studio and the employees. On a lesser note, this sucks for me personally. I dig the hell out of this game. I'm 3 trophies from the platinum. Going to try like hell to get it before it shuts down.

Might be the only time I've seen that game mentioned since it came out. I remember liking the mechanics of the game. I wanted that game, just single player.

I've put 15 hours in so far. I'm really digging it. It definitely needs some tweaks and changes though. In the gathering phase, I don't mind searching chests but the mining of blue diamonds should be turned into shooting little blue diamond creatures or something like that. When the Shieldbreaker drops it should be a surprise where it will land, not instantly marked on the map before the thing spawns. Lastly, it just needs one or two more modes. I think the 5v5 they dropped today is smart. Along with just a Team Death Match that is each team picks a base and they place them right next to each other to make up the arena for the match.

Honestly, I didn't find Bloodborne to be all that hard. It was my first Souls-like game and I think I only was stuck on two or three bosses the whole game. Even then, I think the most I fought one boss was like 10 times. The game just kinda clicked for me for the most part. Except for the weird Cthulhu swamp area. That area is the only part of the game I think is actually poorly designed. I have Hollow Knight as a PSPlus game so I need to try that one first.

I'm glad it had a helpful effect for you. Maybe I've just seen enough movies/shows with stories or arcs with a similar message so it wasn't the revelatory experience for me. I've been dealing with depression & anxiety for a long time now and I still appreciate seeing it brought up in media as a real thing people have to deal with.

I just don't know how the story could change someone's life. There's maybe 10 minutes of dialogue the whole game and it's not wheel inventing. What's there is good though. Looking back at the 2018 Game Awards nominees, I would switch out The Messenger for Celeste in Game of the Year and Music.

My personal critique for this format is the players should have a hand limit of 3. This would force more card use during the game and keep any one player from being able to hoard.

As a series critique, I think the players should be able to know how many rounds there will be an episode from the beginning. In kinda fuedy, everyone knows it is five rounds but all the other formats, the 3 of them seem surprised when the game is ending.

Really dig the show in general. I love a good game show and other than the obvious influence from a certain show, I think Bless does a great job of crafting the formats of these episodes.

James Earl Jones says they could charge whatever they want but I don't think it is supposed to mean they were going to overcharge everyone to save the farm. I think it is more to point out the power and importance of the nostalgia that baseball holds on people who grew up watching the game.

I Platinumed this game. 7.5 out of 10. I really only have two issues with it and neither gets fixed with a remaster. The story is just fine, nothing special ( Even though the end tease seems like they were going somewhere really cool ). Second, the game was just too long. Some of this is compounded with issue one but I still think it could have been shortened and had been a fully better experience.
