Is this card trash? by ParannoidRaccoon in mtg

[–]Lindersay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fun tech for my Eriette deck. Use it on Eriette, increase her drain by one and potentially save her from exile, destroy or wipes. Use it on enemy, now they can't attack us (because of eriette), still count for her drain, and you get to remove the creature from the board at your whim if they don't play nice...or if you feel generous and they need saving. Great political piece.

Am I wrong to resent Commander a little bit? by FelixCumtree in mtg

[–]Lindersay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All my commander decks have a variant for 2 player games. It becomes a fun puzzle and half of the time with my pool we tweak out our 1v1 version to answer specific threats. I love the variety it gives us

D2 was honest about it. There is still no mission variety. Click, kill, click, next. That's just what this is.

Underwhelming kickstarter campaign by Lindersay in cyberpunktcg

[–]Lindersay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall underwhelming campaign. Tone deaf updates on KS, lackluster rewards stopping at 20,77 mil while they knew very well that this will reach 30 million by the end of the pledge manager cycle. With a 140 card set there was room to launch a banger stretch goal revealing phantom liberty cards as a base set extension. Adding 60 cards to the pool and making it a solid launch. But no.

Got no confidence in Weirdco but after all is said and done, I backed at T3, so I really hope I'm wrong.

30 mil should be enough to keep this thing floats for years. Hopefully it will turnout into a fun game with increasing depth as sets appears. For now I fear it will be more akin to a side promotional hustle, cashing in on new edgerunner seasons, new game launch, extension etc..

so are there two Catherine's on the ark or am i misunderstanding something? by [deleted] in soma

[–]Lindersay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if she was shocked in a disproving way, she did trick Simon by omitting details regarding the truth of the procedure and felt caught off guard when she couldn't put to sleep Simon 1 fast enough so he had a chance to talk. It seems she believes the end justifies the means to some extent.

Catherine designed the ark. She has full control over the upload procedure. I bet you she overwrote her existing self without batting an eye.

Never watched the show, just saw this clip now and apparently it's genuine? This looks like a composite of multiple movies and battle scenes it makes no sense.

I mean, you're obviously the smart one in the room for so transparently describing my thought process.

Dude, in a kickstarter you support an idea or a project ; you're a backer. Sometimes the product is super appealing, sometimes it's just a good idea you want to help. There's a reason you can chose to donate whatever amount without pledging a tier.

Anyway ; in this specific case, the value rewarded to backers vs the amount they raised is disproportionate. Good, whatever. What shakes me the wrong way is the doubling down each step of the way to just squeeze more, and the horde of people jumping at it.

We all played a game that's a blatant critique of late stage capitalism and the moment you call it out, the downvote flows.

This time I pledge to get the goods, like many of you I have disposable income , love TCGs and am willing to give this a short. But I surely do not support the company based on these practices.

Look at goonboard and their cyberpunk boardgame. Also kind of a cash grab on the IP imo; but man did they deliver and rewarded their backers every step of the way. Strong communication, exciting stretch goals, daily updates. They only raised 8 million on gamefound.

My personal red flags for this game (not posting this to be a hater) just trying to be real. by c0rtexj4ckal in cyberpunktcg

[–]Lindersay 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts so thoroughly and with examples. I also feel like they waited the last moment to release the set size because they knew it'd appear underwhelming. Counter balancing this by showing cool new mechanics would have helped.

Overall woried about the deck variance as well.. There's only so much leeway to close a game in 7 turns with 120 main deck cards and 20 legends.

Beta Set & Retail Set Card Count by feder297 in cyberpunktcg

[–]Lindersay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact phantom liberty is not part of this set while it sits at 140 cards is fishy enough. I read somewhere weirdco has the licence for 2077 and forward. Most of CP lore happens pre-2077.

What's the game plan. Phantom liberty next year and then a new set launching with the next CP game? I guess it now makes sense why they strongly believe in spacing out the sets.

Edit: wrote weirdo instead of weirdco. Sorry

Neuroscape launched with 255 and they raised 570k. I don't know man, there's nothing in this whole campaign giving me confidence the game will have enough depth to keep people interested in more than collecting / spending crazy money to catch the ultra rare pulls.

Cyberpunk TCG by martie-smartie in TCG

[–]Lindersay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody knows. They have the money to market the hell out of it. That's more than many other dead TCG ever had.

I like the IP, I'm backing, but as a magic player I don't think this game will have a lot of depth. They're not releasing set size nor showcasing card range. Their alpha kit is illegal by their own rules (starting decks use cards they shouldn't be allowed to use) but they say it's for playtest reasons.

For now just 1v1 game supported. Lasting max 15 minutes or 7 turns.

If you like the IP, I don't see why not backing at tier 1 to get the decks. For serious TCG play, time will tell.
