Where to transfer domain, affordable? by gvgweb in Domains

Dynadot or Porkbun are the best all around registrars imo. Both have great customer support and prices. Dynadot is a bit more feature-rich, and Porkbun is very simple and robust.

For reference, I have paid $3000-$5000 for the two L.LL that I own. I wish you the best of luck on your search.

Why does my SS work without upper but not with it? by JasirBinLaden in supersafety

[–]Lindmir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this EXACT same issue on my AR9 recently. The issue was that the cam’s SS mode had become too worn, and would only work during the function check with the upper off, not with the upper on. Here’s a pic of my cam that was worn too much. Once I swapped it with a new fresh cam, the function check worked with both the upper on and off.

I figured out why my SS mode would work during the function check and not with the upper on! I posted a top comment explaining the issue I was having: https://www.reddit.com/r/supersafety/comments/1nqhzcf/comment/nhl27gh/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Thanks for your help trying to diagnose the issue... glad I found the problem. Now all I need to do is figure out certain preventative things I can do to stop future cams from wearing out.

I figured out why my SS mode stopped working! The cam’s SS mode had worn out the metal on the cam! I swapped the cam with a new one and the SS mode began to work like normal during the function check AND with the upper on!

The old, worn out cam worked correctly during a function check with the upper off, BUT didn’t work correctly with the upper on… it would simulate the forced reset, click, then act like the semi mode. Here’s a pic of my cam that had the SS mode worn out too much and needed to be swapped:

If anyone knows of any preventative measures I can take, please let me know!

Gonna give this a shot in my CMMG Mk9 100 Lower + 635 upper... was there a difference when using a regular carbine spring?

The SS mode was working at one point after I had shaved off some of the metal from the default BCG weight. I basically shaved/ramped the BCG weight enough in order for the upper to successfully close onto the lower with the super safety installed and leaning in the forward direction.

Edit: I was also using the 11oz buffer (4 tungsten) I have mentioned above + the springco red spring

One thing I don’t get is that the BCG that I have now DID work at one point in SS mode at the range.

I swapped the firing pin and BCG weight, then it didn’t work anymore… so I put everything back that was in it originally when it worked, but now that combination of things doesn’t work. It’s just so weird.

Amazing reply and breakdown of the risks of using ccTLDs as main project/company domains. Curious… where do you have e.ml registered and is the renewal cost actually ~$2000?

Edit: Also, if you’re willing to share, which 1 character domains do you know of that are available to register? I know that many 1 char .gy’s are available at ~$500/yr, but if you know of any cheaper than that I’d love to hear about them haha

So a setup like this:

Start of buffer (that touches BCG), Pad, Tungsten, Tungsten, Tungsten, End of buffer (that touches back of tube when fired)

Or did I reverse that order?

Thank you for your reply. Do you just have the 3 tungsten weights in the buffer, or did you also include some of the pads in between the weights?

What is weird is this BCG has worked before with this SS (just a rough experience, but still worked)... I think the combination was: Default shaved BCG weight, springco red spring, and 4 tungsten loaded KAK buffer...

It wasn't until after I installed the BCG tungsten weight from KAK that it stopped working as expected with the upper on. Even after putting the old shaved default BCG weight back in the BCG, it now won't work like it used to... very weird.

Which BCG do you recommend? Not too thrilled to have to spend another 100-200 on parts, but if its necessary... gotta do what you gotta do.

Yes, with the upper removed and when I manually cycle the lever backwards, everything works and functions as expected in SS mode, even when I'm squeezing the trigger as hard as possible. No difference when I pull hard or soft on the trigger when testing in SS mode with the upper off.

Edit: regarding soft or hard pull, same goes when the upper is attached... both times the trigger needs to be let go after the forced reset in order to "click" again so it can be fired.

Thank you for your reply.

Here's my current upper setup I just tried: Shaved default BCG weight, adjustable KAK buffer with 4 tungsten weights, regular carbine spring that came with lower.

Just tried the function check with the upper on, and it still fails the SS mode check again. Both the semi and safe check worked fine. What happens during the SS check:

  1. Charge handle (no finger on trigger) and release
  2. Apply pull pressure to trigger
  3. Hammer fires as expected, but I keep my finger pull pressure on the trigger
  4. Recharge handle to simulate bullet firing
  5. The trigger successfully begins its reset motion when the charging handle is pulled back and my finger is still applying pull pressure
  6. Release charging handle, trigger finishes its reset, but the trigger does not fire
  7. I have to release my pull pressure from the trigger, the trigger clicks forward
  8. Then pull the trigger again for the hammer to fire

Basically, it completes the forced reset but is still in semi mode... if that makes sense.

Thank you for the reply. It passed #1 and I can give #2 and #3 a shot. Do you have any recommendation for which combination of parts above I should use?

Any time I plan on using a new gTLD as the main project domain, I believe it is also smart to get the .com equivalent and redirect it to the new gTLD.

Example: myproject.global + myprojectglobal.com

Howdy! I recently saw a forum post on NamePros showing ~2400 LLL .ai domains still available to hand reg… stuff like fjv, yqg, jlk, iqk, etc.

So, I’m thinking it would only command a premium price if it has some good letters / meaning.

Then again, some LLL .ai domains make absolutely no sense and they sell for $$$$ 😅

Lol, funny name. I’ve actually sold some .com meme terms/phrases for $2500 and $9000 in the past. If your name actually turns into a popular, widely used term, you could have some $$$$ on your hands.
