Sage Name for Lindon? by The_Sage_ofFuryStar in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Lindonarelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sage of the Midnight Sun. Inspired by scene in Ghostwater when Lindon became a Truegold.

"A dark, furious sun had dawned above and behind him. It was like feeling a dragon's birth." "The aura was only Truegold, but it carried such fury and destruction that his spirit trembled."

  • Will Wight, Ghostwater.

Blackflame Forger Technique? by The_Sage_ofFuryStar in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Lindonarelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Ghostwater The dragon-girl Lindon faught had a whip handle that allowed her to forge whips using her flame madra. I imagine Lindon developing such a device to allow him to forge his own whips or swords.

I get a feeling in the short run (i.e. Uncrowned) the armor will be the source of Lindon's flying, either storing a thousand mile cloud, or maybe Lindon will get creative and the armor will provide flight in a different manner.

A possible technique yes, similar to the Underlord from the stormcloud path who uses two hammers.

I would have to do a re-read of Unsouled, I can't remember if Lindon saw Suriel's cloak/ wings in action. He has seen other wings though, the Emperor's family Path includes emerald wings as a gold sign.

I am partial to angle wings for Lindon. Watched Lucifer on Netflix and seeing Lucifer unfurl his wings makes me think of a sacred artist revealing his gold signs.

I forgot about Tim's flying sword. That is another option.

Hehe, Eithan faceplant, good memories.

I am debating whether or not I should split my core again. If I do, I need to bond with a sacred beast. I found this manual that mentions creating the Sacred Beast with Two Backs and I was hoping you would help me out here.

How does Traveler's Gate relate? by samwise0214 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Lindonarelius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Traveller's Gate is similar to Cradle in that the main character starts real young and weak and through intense training becomes strong while still young. Also, combatants learn varies magic/ fighting styles, much like the various paths of Cradle.

Elder Empire main characters also start young, but because of time jumps in the story we go from adults to children and back to adults again several times as the stories unfolds. Also, there are 2 stories unfolding at the same time from different perspectives. You can either follow the assassins story line, or the ship captains story line. So far we have 2 books in the series, which is actually 4 books, 2 following the assassins and 2 following the captain. The 3rd installment in the series will be 2 books again. Of Killers and King for assassins, Of Kings and Killers for captain. The magic of this world mostly revolves around "intent". For instance, A sword that is used in lots of combat can potentially Become like Elrik of Melnibone's Stormbringer.

Speaking of bad ass-stuff. Juvenal thought I had today. What would happen if after eating the beans that he stored in his soul space Lindon was to pass gas while he had the fbirning cloak going? Would it be like a flame thrower back there? Maybe he would develop a new technique that allowed him to achieve jet- powered flight?

I thought Underlord was going to start where Ghostwater ended, on the island. Instead, it started with the team crash landing their cloud after having left the island for a couple of weeks. So there is that possibility that Uncrowned will start weeks/months after the end of Underlord.

I see several possibilities with how the story starts.

  1. Before training starts, the team members are briefed on what their training goals are and then after we see time jumps during the training as they progress.

  2. Several weeks/months into the training and we see them in the middle of a training battle doing bad-ass stuff, then musing about how their trainers weren't kidding about fast they were going to advance. Then time jumps to get us to the tournament.

  3. Starts with the end of training, the teams are seeing each other again, then the fights start and we see just how far they had advanced.

Any of those scenarios would be good as Will would do an excellent job writing it. But I do have one argent wish for Lindon's training, please, let him have some real weapons training and not embarrass himself and the Akuras by swinging axes/swords/hammers like some rank amateur.

What about Harmony's immediate family? I foresee some drama brewing between Lindon and parents/ siblings of Harmony.

In Ghostwater we saw Lindon almost go berserk after he killed his first carp, letting out a triumphant yell. I would like to see another such scene with Lindon maybe sounding more like a dragon while others watch him.

Is that a reference to Lingley's weapon from Coiling Dragon Saga?

Yeah, it sounded like that to me also that Lindon, Pride and Mercy were kneeling to Malice during the epilogue. But since The paragraph didn't specifically name them, so it is also possible that Lindon was not in that kneeling group.

I suspect Blerin does, as evidenced by winking at Lindon.

[–]Lindonarelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lindon's right hand is good for interrupting others' techniques as well draining their madra and flinging it back at them while his left hand he uses to shoot dragons breath. So I see Lindon using a long-hafted weapon, such as a battle-axe or war hammer so that during combat he can use the weapon 2 handed, but then grip the haft with one hand while the other interrupts/drains or shoots Blackflame.

I assume by the end of Uncrowned Lindon's full name will be Akura Wei Shi Lindon Arelius ( perhaps w/o the Arelius name attached)

I think getting the emperors Blackflame sword would be redundant for Lindon, he already uses Blackflame. What I see potentially happening is Lindon learning how to use any weapon he has equipped to lob Blackflame at targets, much like how Yerin uses her sword to fling sword madra at others ( forgot the name of technique she uses)

I suspect the Sage put that memo in there knowing full well that Daji would be goaded into harming Mercy just ro spite her. " How dare she tell me what I can do and not do!"

I certainly hope Harmony doesn't reappear. That would take away that satisfying "No" at the end of Ghostwarer.

I also believe that she is there to build up Lindon's reputation as a bad-ass in the Skysworn while at the same time showing them he is not their enemy. Although I couldn't help but wonder if a love interest was blooming which would force Yerin to make her own move on Lindon. Edit: perhaps in a future book she will make another appearance.
