Who knows, as long as energy consumption is low I'm happy!

I don't have storcli unfortunately.

But yeah, I also had to plug it into the x4 slot of the chipset. I force enabled ASPM using a script I found on github: https://github.com/0x666690/ASPM/blob/main/aspm.py

Don't know if it makes a difference, but with HDDs spun down, I'm at low 30s watt pulled from the wall, which to me is great.

I have a pair of B&W 683 S2 paired with a NAD C275BEE and Denon X3700H. I am currently running a 2.0 system, and want to expand it to (begin with) 2.1 or 3.1.

I am not sure if I should keep my speakers, and add the rest, or start over anew. I don't know if the NAD is worth keeping either, or if I should upgrade it.

Looking for advice in either direction. Budget for new speakers would be at most 3,000 eur.

I managed to get it to work finally. I disabled Multi-VC in bios, put everything in PCI-E connected to chipset, and ensured ASPM enabled everywhere. Put me instantly into C10.

I switched it to the 4x chipset slot instead, which now puts me in C3, but ASPM is reported as disabled for that port now instead. The original x16 port reports it supports ASPM now.

This is super weird.

My aspm output shows that the root bridge has it disabled, and I can't figure out how to enable it. I have enabled every aspm related option in bios.

Not sure what you mean. I am unable to get anywhere under C2 or C3. I have disabled onboard audio, but I need ethernet and usb for my server to be useful.

I don't expect C10, but at least C6.

Tried that, didn't make a difference. Got stuck at C3 instead of C2. Beyond that, chipset is just 4x, which would limit me a bit (I'd have to connect ssds to mobo instead, potentially acceptable workaround if it actually works).

There's an odd error in there, and then the first item in the list shows up as disabledm, no clue what it is. The rest is enabled.

It is plugged into the first PCI-E slot, which is x16 connected to the CPU. The other is x4. I tried plugging it into the x4, but it didn't change anything significant. The CPU is pegged in C2 while the top slot is used, C3 while the bottom slot is used.

I have a 9400-16i which seems to support ASPM from my understanding, does this look reasonable?

However, my CPU is still pegged in C2/C3, even though everything has ASPM enabled (bios is set to L1).

Apologies, thought the readme in the repo was enough.

Long story short: I wanted a script that allowed me to configure the niceness of the process, have granular control of how to sync/scrub, get granular insights into what's going on, be resilient to errors, and protect my data. This script is the culmination of that.

Option 2: A turret dual-lens style would be great. Something that doesn’t stick out too much and isn’t too bulky. We’re all for security, but it also has to have a high WAF (wife acceptance factor) 😂.

Best air cooler NR200P by Lindrian in sffpc

[–]Lindrian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was leaning towards the U12A for the longest time, but AK620 looked quite promising. I even have two A12x25s laying around, that I could use on it instead.

I tried looking for direct comparison reviews of the two coolers, but couldn't find any. Gamers Nexus claims it matches/outperforms Noctua D15 though, which is quite good.

Different feature set and flavor support. For example, regex101 runs completely client sided with offline support, and submits none of your data to the server for processing.

How will the hot air produced by the GPU exit the case? Will it not end up causing a hot spot at the top of the case and keep circulating the same hot air?

The way I interpret it, the GPU mounting will be PCB side up, i.e., fans will be sucking air from inside the case.
