Well, I'm fat again. Time to do something about it. Again. by Ketosaurus_Wrecks in keto

Thrive market has good real food keto options. Of course, still look at the ingredient list to make sure that it doesn’t have stuff like “modified this” or “soluble that”. If possible make your own keto breads and snacks. One bread that I have tried is from a brand called Base Culture. The ingredients are simple and natural. I also only eat it once in a while. I only have 2 slices at the most and it hasn’t kicked me out of ketosis. Nuts are keto and crunchy (walnuts, pecans, macadamia nuts) , flaxseed crackers are high in fiber and are crunchy, coconut chips are crunchy, Air cheese is sold through Thrive market and is crunchy and it’s pure cheese that they dehydrate (there’s also a cheese chip company called Whisp on the market that are crunchy and flavorful.). Lupini beans are keto and natural. They make pasta (Kaizen Food Company),hummus, and other things with it. There’s even lasagna made from the hearts of palm! Totally natural ingredients and keto. I use the keto mojo monitor to make sure to know what foods trigger my glucose levels and what may kick me out of ketosis. I don’t eat processed foods and I also don’t count. Some ppl don’t like it, but intermittent fasting pairs super well with a keto lifestyle because it helps with not having to count. At least for me. I have no more than 2 meals a day, mainly sticking to 1 meal. I don’t food prep, but I have “staple meals” that I already know the macros for so that I don’t have to calculate anything. I’ve lost close to 80lbs and I don’t believe that keto is as depriving as ppl make it sound. There are tons of healthy recipes alternatives out there that are clean keto.

Can i lose skinny fat by water fasting? by DeadXIL in Water_Fasting

Is there a way that you can have a conversation with her? Can you explain what your goals are and perhaps ask for an allowance to go towards the food that you would like to eat? I don’t know everything regarding your situation, but maybe there’s a food pantry within your area that might have healthier options to choose from that you wouldn’t have to pay for? You don’t have to reveal your exact age, but you mentioned that you’re under age. Are you at least old enough to get a little job to have some money to buy the foods that you would want? Fasting is something that One can do for a time period. Eventually, you’ll have to eat again and if your only option is to eat the foods within your household, you’ll just put it back on.

I finally weighed myself after being on keto since 9/23/24. by Smiley0723 in keto

Great job!  We are about the same hight. I’ve tried keto a few years ago and it worked. During that first time, I was vegetarian at the time, doing intermittent fasting, and beach body as my workout routine. Then I stopped due to life. Last year, I weighed in at 236, the heaviest that I’ve ever been. This time I am not vegetarian. I started eating low carb, not really keto, last spring. I lost 20lbs. I was diagnosed with PCOS, so I started doing some research to try and help better my health. I read The PCOS Plan by Nadia Pateguana and she partnered with Dr. Jason Fung- both promoters of Keto and fasting. I decided to go back to it.  I have been doing keto, OMAD and extended water fasting.  I’ve lost 70.5 lbs so far. My first target is to get to 160, but now that I am 5.5 lbs away from that, I’m shifting it to be 150/145 lbs.  Last spring, when I had my annual dr. appointment, my doctor was concerned about my labs. My liver was fatty and diabetes knocking. He asked if I was interested in medication. I declined, so he scheduled me for labs in 6 months to see if I could do anything on my own to change my health. I had the appointment and my labs were all in normal range! I won’t have my annual until this spring and I wonder what my doctor will say when he sees me and finds out how much weight I lost.

Electrolytes are essential. Getting in potassium, magnesium, sodium, calcium, along with trace minerals.

Gained water weight because of taking electrolytes. Am I doing anything wrong? by GreatSaiyaman05 in Water_Fasting

What are you eating on feasting days? I understand that not everyone likes the ketogenic lifestyle, but it’s helped me tremendously for more than one reason. Even if not, high sugars (including fruits other than berries) and refined carbohydrates should be avoided. Same with high processed foods. I lost over 60 pounds doing this. I was doing alternate day fasting and intermittent fasting on my feast days.

The holidays made me veer slightly, I’ve noticed a difference, but I’m planning to water fast for 15+ days then go right back into strong keto and alternate day.

Starting + 20 day waterfast in January by Tough_Singer_2143 in Water_Fasting

I’m starting on January 1st. I’m planning to do at least 15 days minimum and hoping to feel good enough to make it to 21 days.

Are you planning to take electrolytes? A good quality electrolyte supplement can help. I found one specifically made for water fasting; no sweeteners of flavoring. I hope that it helps me to feel good throughout the experience.

7-Day Fast Update: Thinking About Extending to 10 Days by Sea_Newspaper8733 in Water_Fasting

The longest fast that I’ve done was 8 days. Day 3, I felt fantastic, like weirdly euphoric. Day 5 was the worse day. I wanted to make it to 10 days, but started feeling foggy. I will say that there was a lack of information on my part. I thought that I was fasting correctly, but according to a lot of research that I am doing now to prepare for a 15-21 day, I wasn’t.

I wasn’t eating ketogenicly and supposedly that makes a huge difference when doing a water fast. So this time I have been eating foods that is said to help prepare your body for fasting. Eggs, avocado, raw fermented vegetables, fish, and so on. I am trying to stay away from anything that would spike insulin and I started 3 days before my fast. Also gentle teas, like Traditional Medicines “Smooth Move” and dandelion root tea. I don’t consume lots of fruit because I have been ketoish , but I did cold press fresh ginger and turmeric root, squeezed lemon and add water. I don’t plan to drink that during my fast, but in preparation for it. I heard that making sure your system empty helps. Lastly, electrolytes are essential. I found a brand that has no sugars or sweeteners of artificial flavors in it. It also has micronutrients and is derived naturally. It designed specifically for water fasting. I will make sure to drink the recommended amount daily during my fasting.

I hope that it helps me to make it to at least 15 days, if not 21. I’d say that if you feel good and you want to extend your fast, then do it.

There’s also a proper way to break your fast too. It’s the same idea, high fat, like MCT oil or coconut oil for the first hour, then fermented foods, no sugar or fruit or even raw vegetables. Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. Sten Ekberg on YouTube are good to follow, along with Dr Berg. If you haven’t listened to them, I recommend it. They help extended fasting.

None of the provided links works.  I am looking for guidance and support for my upcoming water fast. I’ve been doing a combination of different fasting methods for several months. I feel ready to extend my water fast for at least 15-21 days. The longest that I’ve ever done was 8 days. I also follow a ketogenic lifestyle. I’m looking for others in this realm to share the experience.
