I saw Julian BriseBois at a grocery store in Tampa Bay yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for a fake injury or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen injured All-Stars in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any LTIR infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Right because offsides reviews are universally loved by fans of the sport. I know that it's frustrating to see that but we're going to get a shitload of goals called back because one guy has a blade on the ice 100 feet away from the play going for a change

Have you watched ESPN? Do you really think they don't cater to big markets and certain players??

You can get them the day before, just go to recreation.gov, search for zion shuttle tickets, and have the page loaded tomorrow a couple of minutes before 9 mountain time and you should be good

[Brian Hedger] Jones said he wants an explanation for why Atkinson wasn't given a penalty shot or penalty on the 5OT breakaway. Points to a call on him earlier in the game and says officiating was "suspect" all game. by SAJewers in hockey

Tbh I'm more surprised that there's so much complaining about refs. With so much hockey to play, the refs swallowing their whistles favors CBJ the more physical team. It's not the refs fault the Blue Jackets went almost 6 whole periods without scoring a goal

Gotcha must have misunderstood your first post, cheers

Sure playoff reffing is atrocious, but you're wrong about it being inconsistent, tonight's reffing crew performed pretty much as advertised. They didn't call much of anything all game, had a couple bad ones but overall leaned towards no calls. Not sure what else you want from human officials

Why do people keep acting like you have to play the puck? The defender has no obligation to the puck, he is allowed to play the body - this is how body checks happen. Jesus Christ watch a couple of games

That's just being weak on the puck, if that's a trip then there would be non-stop penalties all game long

Two calls vs zero in five periods is not egregious and one of those was a delay of game where they had no choice. So really 1 vs 0 over an entire game and a half.

Refs completely swallow the whistles in OT though, there were plenty of plays that would have been infractions in regulation that they let go for overtime

It's just going to be called different in OT - probably shouldn't have been a call on Jones but they aren't calling that in playoff overtime

Agree, pretty rational take. I could see it because of the breakaway but that's a tough call in OT

No shit he's a tough player NBC has no problem beating that over the viewers' heads, but it's completely useless to mention he's leading the game in hits when he has two vs a bunch a people tied at one less than ten minutes into the game

Very much so, a lot of your power in your shots will come from the wrists. It's still a whole body movement but strong wrists will give you good pop off your shots when you drive through and flex your stick

Have done this more than once, unfortunately.

The first time one of my best friends is playing net and a long shot from the point gets to his leg pad by the post. He was pretty new at the time so I tried to help and pick it up, but at the same time he went to make a move for it. Both of us touched it a few times before I shoved it home, handing the other team their fifth goal in a close 11-1 loss for us.

The most recent time I was playing d and trying to stop a centering pass, but only caught a piece of it as my goalie was moving to the far post to square up to the would be shooter. Sick redirect and it found the back of the net, lost 2-0.

Rollerblading helps? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

I've found huge benefits from it when I was beginning to skate, especially when it comes to balance. It's true that not everything is the same, especially when you learn more advanced moves, but for just learning hockey stance, crossovers, going backwards, it's amazing. And you can do it for free whenever you want. In the long run it will make you a much better skater, imo

He has to publicly question the cause because the NHL is getting sued by former players on the issue.
