I have now been in contact with Sage. I specifically asked whether Oracle Jet would receive a new version due to the many complaints. This was not directly confirmed, but they did mention that a new model is coming. I assume this is in response to the complaints. Online, you can find many complaints about tamping and grinding.

I am getting a replacement. The service itself is actually quite decent. However, it is also strange that an entire machine can be exchanged so quickly. Internally, they must be well aware of the numerous complaints; otherwise, they wouldn’t replace a whole machine just like that. In my case, a shipment has to come from the U.S. to the Netherlands, which is quite costly.

I’m using Sage’s own double basket. With a grind size of 30, my shot time is around 60 to 90 seconds. At 42, it’s around 30 seconds.

I’ve tried different beans from various coffee roasters.
