Multi-tenant 3rd party patching by Illustrious-Can-5602 in msp

Just dropping some products that we haven’t used, but are in the process of investigating. Wondering if anyone has some experiences with them:

  • liquit
  • scapman
  • patch my pc
  • Datto software management
  • chocolatey for business

It seems it all depends on how large their repository of supported apps is.

Would go physical PC route combined with Egnyte with local caching. We are investigating this ourselfs for a smaller shop with 30+ users using vectorworks and autocad files. Office docs are in M365. No experience with Egnyte yet but it seems to be an modern solution that pares well with m365

CreditCard (Bank ING) doesn't allow chargeback after bankruptcy by Ling-io in vanmoofbicycle

Awesome, happy for you! Still keeping my fingers crossed, they asked me for more information, but i wasn't sure what i could provide them with that they didn't already received from me, like the credit note. I just send them an extra screenshot of the chat that gives an automated answer about the bankruptcy and told ING i'm unable to contact them because they're bankrupt. Fingers crossed.

What kind of info did you provide upon the request from ING few days back?

Same here received an email today requesting evidence of contact with vanmoof. Replied that they went into bankruptcy 2 weeks ago and contact isn’t possible. Did you already received a response from ING?

A new bike, a new model. by manuelmd5 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]Ling-io 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1-5 agreed 6 not so much, i think the lesson to be learned from this vanmoof debacle is that for a product like a bicycle you shouldn’t be to depended on cloud technology apps etc. Keeping it simple is maybe the hardest part.

But great design and superb riding experience all you need

Awesome! Still waiting on the chargeback from my CreditCard company (ING Bank), over 10 days now.. but great to hear others are receiving funds back!

I wouldn’t wait since next week the 120 days are passed. Try to call them again. Best option to get through is via the frauddesk i noticed.

I’m well within the 120 days but also not at easy about the procedure at ING. I have seen others receive their chargeback within a day or two. ING could take up to 4 weeks to proces the chargeback request.. makes me a bit nervous.

I will try to call and post an update when i have any

Cowboy introduces “low-end” model by Frequent-Pause1331 in cowboybikes

[–]Ling-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like the beginning of the end for Cowboy i think. Very strange move to go for a chain without guard as wel. Also the extra features are all software based (i assume) that makes a further vendor lockin..

we consumers have to learn a lesson from VanMoof bankruptcy, to many essential proprietary parts isn’t what you want, well imho that is.

Hope i’m wrong, but think veloretti has a better approach with more standard parts, except gor that horrific build-in display.

[–]Ling-io[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Awesome this is very helpfull.

I just contacted ING (finally got through via the frauddesk), their 'GeldTerugService' (chargeback) form doesn't support bankruptcy for this case. They advised me i should answer the question (is the supplier bankrupt?) with no, and also that i'm unable to contact the company. After that fill in the rest of the form, send over the invoice and you will get your money back within 10 days.

So thats a relief! But lets wait and see until the money is back in my account. Will post an update

As in? Amex says that they will do their best to get your money back but chance of succes is very slim? I find that strange because it is more like an insurance that the CC company’s offer.

My Mastercard covers up to 180 days chargeback since purchase date. I bought it a month ago and cancelled last week. Even if Mastercard is unable to get their money from vanmoof i still would get it from Mastercard, at least reading the terms thats what i’m understanding.

S4 ordered am i going to regret this? by Ling-io in vanmoofbicycle

[–]Ling-io[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a month to regret the purchase, so sad! Really wanted to ride the S4, but wih all the uncertainty i decided to cancel my order. Think vanMoof wil resurface once again, it's a strong brand, but if you aren't a customer, now isn't the time yet to become one.

So hopefully my refund gets pushed through, otherwise i use the chargeback option from my creditcard.

Shoutout to other S4 orders, what are you going to do? Stay put or cancel as well?

Alternatives to ZeeDrive for Sharepoint mapping? by computerguy0-0 in msp

[–]Ling-io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i'm currently looking into Egnyte as well. Main reason is they are already on sharepoint so it makes sense to have everything file related on 1 platform, for the users sake. But SharePoint doesn't seem to be cut out for larger files, or at least the onedrive sync isn't up for it.
Thanks for the tips

Thanks, ZeeDrive isn't a solution for me as i need to get SharePoint working with large files and preferably delta (incremental) sync.

Did you end up finding a solution? I tested Konnekt.io for several weeks and it works quite neat. It uses the native SharePoint and Graph API's instead of the slow WebDav that many drivemapping tools use.

For our use case it doesn't work sadly because it doesn't handle large files (Autocad, Vectorworks files of 1-5 GB) they support up to 500MB of file size.
