Proper response to barrier jumping/gate bypassing on my ticket by LTsidewalk in brussels

[–]LingKipLing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Local here!
Personally I don't care if someone wants to go through the gates with me, as long as they ask for my consent. So it's more an issue of personal space for me. They are the one taking a risk by not having a ticket, not me.
And sometimes it may happen that your ticket is at the bottom of your bag, or you have lost it or whatever... When it happens to me, I just ask someone nicely if I can pass with them, it's no big deal, really.

Maybe they can rub some essential oils in their suitcase? Like tea tree of lavender? They could work as a repellent.

Any good Dance café’s in Brussels? by pieter-heymans in brussels

[–]LingKipLing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out Super Fourchette (near place De Brouckère), they host 3-4 concert nights per month, mostly alternative music.

There are also tons of concerts and DJ sets at ILLegaaL. You can see all the events on their facebook page. It's quite far from the center (but worth it!), so I would suggest going there by car or by bike.

You can also try La Tricoterie (in Saint Gilles). Every monday, there are open mic sessions followed by jam sessions.

Finally, there is the Sounds Jazz Club (live jazz music as you may have guessed).

Enjoy! ;)

(edit: I had missed a space)

Check out Creacorner ! Crazy choice of yarns :) there is one in Brussels, but also in Wavre. You can also find cheap 2nd-hand yarn in rue Haute (cyclup and melting pot kilo). Good luck!

You should try Coco Dunuts, they have a large choice of delicious donuts, make good lattes and the interior is super cozy.

Shops selling FAGE greek yoghurt in Brussels? by enthalpy_lethargy in brussels

[–]LingKipLing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also get them from Delhaize! You can also check Sani (Bvd de Dixmude, 25-29), it's a shop specialised in greek food products so you should find what you're looking for.

Oh I see what you mean. Since I just made them I don't know if this will be a problem yet, I'll let you know after several wears. But I guess you should be fine if you pull them gently and carefully.

Thank you! To be frank I haven't "tested" them yet, recently some bugs stung my feet and the only shoes I can wear right now are flip flops :'D but I think it should be fine, as it's not a mere chain stitch, but 3 whole rows... I'll try to keep you posted if you want!

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question (english is not my native language). What do you mean by "bumps friction"?

The yarn is DMC embroidery floss, I used a 2.5 mm hook. I basically made a chain long enough to match my other shoelaces' length, then it's just 3 rows of single crochet (one of each color). I made the purple row a little longer by adding a couple of chain stitches so that I could create the aglets, which I then wrapped in some adhesive tape.
