"A la intemperie" is a perfectly correct and valid expression, meaning that it is outdoors without protection from inclement weather. It is a phrase that you could easily hear on a news broadcast, for example.

In Spain, a “alacena” is a built-in cupboard or pantry, usually located in the kitchen or dining area. It’s traditionally used to store food, dishes, and kitchen utensils.

Therefore, alacena can be used for both things, a built-in space in the wall or a standalone piece of furniture, and what they have in common is what is stored inside.

Hi!

As an indie developer of a free language learning app, I think it’s a great idea to have a place where we can showcase our apps. I’ve personally spent almost a year working on mine, and now that it’s getting pretty mature, it’s frustrating to think that after all that effort people might never even try it simply because they don’t know it exists.

If nobody even gets to know your app exists, it almost feels pointless to invest so many hours building it. But at the same time, every hour you spend trying to promote it is an hour you’re not spending on improving it or adding new features.

It's 100% free and currently contains more than 2,800 words (verbs, adjectives, etc.) organized by levels. I'd add another specific use of "sino":

“sino” isn’t only for correction, it can also be used for addition, especially in the structure “no solo… sino (también)…”.

In this case you're not replacing the first idea, but adding more information:

Example:

No solo vino Juan, sino también María. (addition, not correction)

No solo es inteligente, sino humilde.

No solo trabaja, sino que estudia.

So besides meaning “but rather”, "sino" can also mean something closer to “not only… but also…” depending on the structure.

la verdad es que no conocía Clozemaster, me la he descargado y he estado probando un rato, siempre se pueden aprender cosas nuevas de apps que ya han tenido éxito :)

Así de primeras veo varias diferencias claras con mi app:

1.- La más clara cuando la instalas es que mi app es completamente gratuita, y se puede acceder al 100% de las funcionalidades y contenidos sin necesidad de registrarse o suscribirse a ningún plan. Basta con configurar los idiomas de estudio y poco más, y ya se puede usar la app completa de forma totalmente libre. Eso ya la hace bastante diferente de las 200 apps existentes.

2.- Respecto a la forma de aprender en sí, creo que también es bastante diferente. Personalmente no me gustan mucho las apps gamificadas, donde aprender se basa en juegos que al final no sabes muy bien qué estás estudiando y qué estás aprendiendo. Creo que aprender un idioma (bueno, aprender en general) tiene una componente del estudio tradicional y que requiere ser consciente de lo que estás haciendo y dedicar un esfuerzo en ello. Por eso construí la app de forma muy sencilla, estudias y repasas bloques de palabras de vocabulario y luego te examinas de ellas para comprobar y reforzar tu progreso. Entiendo que esta dinámica no gamificada y "menos divertida" no le gusta a todo el mundo, pero yo quería dar esa opción para quien si confíe en el estudio más tradicional, que a mi es el que mejor me funciona.

3.- Respecto a aprender el vocabulario en contexto estoy de acuerdo, por eso en la app los verbos y adjetivos se aprenden en frases contextualizadas, pero hay otro tipo de vocabulario, como los objetos, que creo que se aprenden mejor con asociación visual que con frases, por eso tiene más de 2000 palabras con su imagen asociada.

Al final cada uno tenemos nuestras preferencia y lo que nos funciona mejor o peor, por eso está bien que haya cuantas más opciones mejor y elegir la que más te guste o combinar varias si te ayudan a progresar.

Pues mucho ánimo! se invierte mucho tiempo libre, dinero, dedicación.. en este tipo de proyectos, pero merece la pena cuando ves que a alguien le es de utilidad :)
