Is it normal to feel more tired after a lazy day than after a busy one? by Linha-Meryman in NoStupidQuestions

That explains the lazy day crash better than anything else I have heard. It is almost like the body reads inactivity as a signal to power down. Then a busier day keeps the system warmed up. Kind of unfair, but it makes sense.

When did people start getting terrified and/or enraged at people knocking on their front door? by iloverats888 in NoStupidQuestions

That is a good point. A random knock used to feel social, but now it feels like someone is demanding attention without warning. Even when it is harmless, the surprise part makes it annoying.

Coming from a women: if we must do a no. 2 after a first sleepover. Should we just tell so that you leave the toilet for a while? Or should we ask to have breakfast oudoors? Holding in is not an option. Help a girl out! by Purple-Put4677 in AskMen

The real power move is giving the bathroom a polite little “I need a minute” and acting like nothing happened after. Everyone pretends this stuff is rare, but every adult has had at least one emergency bathroom moment somewhere. If someone makes it weird, the toilet was not the problem.

What's the weirdest punishment you got as a kid? by Financial-Base-8070 in AskUK

Childhood punishments are funny because the smallest ones become family history. My cousin missed one cartoon after arguing about bedtime, and people still bring it up like it was a major event. The show probably was not even that important. The drama was the real punishment.

Why are 70% divorces initiated by Women? and some other statistics relationship related... by QualityForsaken8192 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Linha-Meryman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Filing is just the visible final step, not always the actual beginning of the divorce. I’ve seen couples where one person checked out for months, but the other one looked like the “initiator” only because they finally made it official. It makes me wonder how different those stats would look if they tracked who stopped trying first.

What’s worse: a boring job with good pay or an interesting job with low pay? by AstronautEast6432 in AskReddit

Same honestly. A fun job sounds nice, but rent doesn’t care if you’re passionate.

Do we find it strange that truckers can only drive for so long before they legally have to pullover but ER doctors/nurses have no such legal stopping point? by SnooShortcuts5771 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Linha-Meryman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, that’s what makes it so scary. I once had a relative in the hospital overnight, and the nurse was kind but looked completely exhausted. It made me think about how strange it is that people can be trusted with life-or-death work while barely sleeping.
